The first post on here - I have these in 3 different accounts and stand to lose massively if it goes down. The way I see it is the board as left themselves with very little protection from the external market conditions!
I've been waiting on a T/O and it's stopped me selling and cutting my losses, now I can't see anyone taken this over!
The best we can hope for is they can manage to offload some of their assets at a semi-decent price? The lack of any kind of info from the board has been totaly unexceptable in my opinion.

This would have been sitting around 80p today if it wasn't for the crooked board.

I've not either, but did a little research yesterday on it and going on previous takeovers it seems it's about 21 days after the offer?
I think the board will let us know when the vote is in the next couple of days.
Medco and others will be hovering up as much stock as they can right up to the vote.

I'm still holding but I don't think the board would have been so enthusiastic for this terrible offer unless they were confident that they have the backing from the major holders?

One interesting thing, I did a dummy large sell today, to see if I could sell them in one go and easy sell, so I upped it and tried a couple of times more and again easy. In all the years of holding this stock I've never been able to sell
or buy these in large blocks! So plenty of buyers and will be right up to the last minute!

The board are absolutely criminals. They should at the least be an investigation into their shady dealing over the last year!!!

The board have been trying to sell Ophir since last summer. As soon as Alan Booth took charge it was the only play he was looking for. No attempt to get a new CEO and closing the London office all points to a wind down. They will all be handsomely made off as well. It is CRIMINAL!!!

Why are they not fighting to save this company they are supposed to be looking after?

What I don't understand is why are the board giving in so easily? They could and should be managing this a lot better than they are. The board will all profit massively from a takeover at any price.

I totally agree with Petrus, As I have said previously there is no need to give this company away unless we get a knockout offer.

Unless they get an offer that can't be refused then there is no need to even look at any silly offers!!!

The times the oil industry are in now, no one wants to spend billions exploring, not even the big boys! so it's easier, less time consuming and a lot cheaper to takeover a smaller company's assets!
Ophir are sitting in a pretty position. To larger oilers they are a very attractive buy. With great assets and almost no debt which is very important to potential buyers.
Ophir would be far better knocking back any offers that come in just now and start building up its cash reserves and see what progress can be made on Tanzania, There will be definitely more buyers prepared to grab this company up.

I don't think they mean at COB, a pre close announcement is an update before the final results I think? So should be first thing and presentation later.
