And TLW still going down - this stock keeps surprising me and not in a good way!

What was the point in yesterday's rise just for it to retract it today.

I never used to give shorters that much credit on controlling a share price over a longer period of time but I'm beginning to change my train of thought on that one!!!

Uganda vote can't come quick enough - Not sure why it has to take TLW 3 months to organise the shareholder vote to approve the sale. I know it would have taken time to draft up the legal stuff but 3 months seems excessive?

It's been the most low-key CEO first-day start that I've been invested in?

The market hates uncertainly and TLW is full of it, But with the new CEO starting today that is a piece of the messy jigsaw put in place. That should give the market a little more confidence in the business now they have a permanent leader at the helm with true experience in running an oil company!
The next major job is to finalise the Uganda sale which should settle any nervousness around Tullow.

Oil holding up well considering yet TLW is down around 15% in 4 days!!!

The sale will go through and needs to go through!

Now and for the foreseeable future there will be a lot of assets out there up for sale at knockdown prices so to get a sale from one of our partners seems good news to me.

As for the price being paid, I think a lot of people are missing the true value of this deal:
Getting almost all of the money in one go and not in very long term stages, as the original deal would have been.
Getting a couple of tie-ins, 75 mil on FID / Percentage of oil at a price level, which is as good as it gets in business - to get royalties for no expense to the business.

They would have approached the major shareholders to make sure they had their backing and if they already have 27.5% backing they 100% have Samuel's approval!

Where did you read that Samuel was voting against the deal?

Just read this in the circular out today saying that the new CEO already holds TLW shares!

On 21 April 2020, the Company announced the appointment of Rahul Dhir as the new Chief Executive Officer.
This appointment will be effective from 1 July 2020. Mr Dhir currently holds 1,346,000 Tullow Shares, which
represent 0.09540 per cent. of the total issued share capital of Tullow as at the Latest Practicable Date.

Premier seems to be pulling away from TLW now which doesn't seem right - the gap should be at least a bit tighter?

We should expect to hear some news in the next few weeks with the start of the new CEO!

That was an article I had read a few days ago.
I don't have a view either way but I would say that the analyst that reviews the oil outlook doesn't have the info on all the non Opec+ oil companies and what they have cut back through all this mess. I would expect that the total world oil cuts will be more than is being guessed at?

GS made 1 billion on the oil crash and are now saying oil is came back too quickly, have they not made enough out of the pandemic yet?

Brent is basically been held at the same level all week if you ignore the standard rise in the evening so this drop is way overdone!

With oil now being firmed up and steadily heading higher, there are a few things that could happen for TLW.

1. Total will now try and fast track the Uganda sale, the more oil rises the more it looks like a steal.
2. Kenya's assets sale attracts more and larger offers.
3. TLW has become even more of a takeover attraction now that oil has stabilized.

TLW has been ahead of the game in terms of cost-cutting which holds them in good stead in the coming months.
