The directors should be made to buy a substantial amount now and show some confidence in the business they're in charge of.
It's one of the main things a director has to do is to show the market that they are capable and have confidence in what they are achieving in the business.
They've given the H2 forecast of 71000 - 78000 and stated that Ntomm-9 is coming upstream in a matter of weeks, so it stands for reason that they would include the new oil in the forecast.
The new supply quantity isn't large so I think this will be used to beef up the current supply and keep to the high-end of the forecast.
That's only how I see it tho?
I've given the update a once over again - didn't take long there wasn't a lot of info in it!
The way I read it is that when the Ntomm-9 well comes online it's extra oil is already accounted for in the 71000-78000 forecast, so no extra oil!
New hedge for 2021, looks like they will build the hedge over the year, so at the year-end, I would expect the final hedge to be higher than the $51 they are at present?
The extra debt can't be accounted for just now, it has to be judged at year-end, as can vary over the year.
Uganda could be finalised at any time, as only waiting for the Gov to come back.
New sales / Farm downs, could again happen at any time as they must have been working on this over the entire year?
It looks like the new CEO is waiting until the 9th Sept when I think he'll give his full plans for the business going forward. He would want a couple of months in before he shows his hand. I do think he will have a few surprises up his sleeve and we might see a slightly different direction going forward?
It's going to be a long 6 weeks!!!
BERENBERG CUTS TULLOW OIL TO 'HOLD' ('BUY') - TARGET 40 (55) PENCE
These downgrades are pointless, Have these companies not noticed that Tullow has collapsed around 800% in the last 12 months with not a lot of difference in the companies performance, so you would think that with that much of a drop would be more than enough to halt the constant downgrades. These are the same agencies that had values of £2.50-£3.50 12 months ago.
It's just all a big scam for them to take companies up and down for their own gains!!!
Should be getting an RNS about Ntomm-9 in the very near future - Going online in August, so basically any time now.
The last time I spoke to Tullows IR a couple of months back, they said the team was working hard on attracting interest in their assets that they're willing to offload, so I would imaging there must be some sort of news due soon. they have had since the end of last year to get this done?
I read a while back that when these companies want to move the price down they sell in lots of small sales constantly,
so over the last few weeks since TLW has been stuck in the 30-32 range - I've spent a bit of time checking the trades for the day when the price has been heading to the lower range and I've noticed there will be a lot of sells over a period of the same price which would be 7000 shares, which seemed a bit of a coincidence, who knows???
They've made sure we can't win here - Good update and we're back up to last week's price with no gains - Bad update and they make even more on their short interest.
The FCA cracks down hard on any kind of insider trading but totally turns a blind eye on blatantly stock manipulating!!!
They are starting to get into the low ball takeover levels again?
I had this happen to me in Ophir Energy when the new CEO was brought in to secretly or not so secretly to sell the company a very poor return for the investor, a lot of us lost a lot of money in that one!!
I think the best way to work out what next week's update will bring is to break it down in its basic form!
New CEO = strong forward forecast on how he will drive the company??
Oil price = Oil has risen far higher than anyone predicted so should relate to a better financial position??
Uganda = Only waiting on Government approval which looking between the lines should be prompt as they are wanting FID as soon as pos??
Kenya = Bidding may be announced by the board??
Drilling = should have more info on Ntomme9 well - dates??
Looks like the Government is keen to get this pushed through.

The solid signs coming from Ghana will be ignored from the market but once they add to production with the new wells coming online in a few weeks, it should be a different story. They've been able to stick to production levels even tho the new wells are a couple of months late in starting up will end up being a positive thing for TLW.
Once TLW gets the vote done next week and then get the CEO's vision at the end of July that will start to sure things up.
