RE: Director Buys31 Oct 2021 22:30
Relative to their wealth, excluding MK and Carol, the top team own hardly any shares. And haven't put their hand in their pocket in the recent down turn
I’m an investor here but some of you want to see rainbows from everything and can’t admit anything is ever negative. Look at other stocks. Management have stepped up and bought. The CEO of asos who has left has even bought on the dip
Iain McDonald is worth about £30m just from his gain in THG a £100k but isn’t much to get excited about
JL working to a £50m bonus. So what. Would you all work harder if I offered a £1m or said fail and lose everything? Losing stuff is always scarier than winning big (it’s exactly this that makes gambling/ poker work)
He’s on a £50m free bet. He doesn’t get there? Oh well still banked his >£1m a year remuneration. The £50m just means whether he gets a boat or not. It’s hardly like it changes much else
Won’t even buy a single stock is shocking for someone who wants a compensation package which (and it’s worth pointing this out) is NOT normal on the London exchange and was contested by industry bodies at the time
You could say that this £50m all win no fee made JL make the wrong call. As he drove not to make the capex spend on new warehouses and automation sooner as the capex alone will cost >£600m which is a fair chunk of share price you won’t see back instantly
But oh course not no one at boohoo has ever done anything wrong
