T Rowe which has a stake in a boohoo is a fund which is managed and administrated by T Rowe. The investors in that fund will others outside of T Rowe

Without a Ceo, a very new chairman, capital markets event which will be reviewed by the new ceo along with a poor share price all stacks up to opportunity

No ceo will just sign up blindly to follow a strategy which is preset to them. For one, they will have huge incentives so they will want to do it the way they see best and two ego

Also asos atm need a Ceo who has a plan for building out in the USA and international. Clearly that's a skill that's lacking in asos atm (as performance is poor vs peers) so if the current asos team build out that plan what's the point in getting an outside ceo with a new skill set if he isn't allowed to tweak or reinvent that approach

The new ceo will have to agree on strategy but how that is executed will be very much his/ her road map. Example look at Card factory. Did a capital markets day, now (12 months later) new ceo has said "some of it is good and some of it is bad so we are going to publish an amended strategy"

The point you’re missing is that atm asos is a rudderless ship. The Ceo leaving caused a 15% sell off from which it hasn’t recovered. Investors today don’t know what the strategy will be tomorrow. This creates doubt

A cheeky bid at £60 (being the 12 month high) could buy a lot of people at the table given a lot of holders have a buy in way below this

You’d have more chance of a bid at £60 working when there is no current ceo vs when there is one

Few years back Astra Zeneca ceo was pivotal in knocking back a bid as he could lay out his strategy for better value. Asos couldn’t really do that now

It sort of means the capital markets day we are about to see is all sort of “in the air” as the new ceo might not like it 100%

Asos stock build was £200m - CFO “it’s advanced Christmas stock”
