OFAH. I think the fools talk nonsense most of the time(clue is in there name) But many say, even with a 50% divi cut, is still good??!! Not for those like me who bought at £2 plus. The whole point of buying vod a year or so ago was the divi, so a 50% cut would be very bad. The fools of course just talk rubbish to lure you into a "better investment" In theory a divi cut might work, but it would spook the market, so not for me. Did you top up on Thursday?? Good luck.

I think vod's total asset value is about 140 billion,so after 77 billion debt, that leaves 63 billion, far more than the market cap of about 37 billion. I THINK?? But please correct me on these figures if I'm wrong, because I do find them allusive & confusing.

TLWilliams. Thank you for your positive post, makes a nice change. Of course we all know that vod has not been a good investment lately, but moaning for the sake of it has become a joke. As for, you know who,( scaremonger.) lets face it, he got a lot of it right, so I can see how it might have put you off. However I think we all need to be positive going forward now, as the sp, in my opinion is at a bargain basement price. Good luck.

Jack, Hi, I don't know how long you have held vod shares, or whether you look at it's history, but I have held vod shares for about 20 years, & I still can't get my head around the £100billion (= to about £150billion today with inflation) that vod paid for Mannesman in 2000. About 3 to 5 times the current market cap, I think, or the current debt. . I often wonder what the vod sp would be now, had it not bid for Mannesman?

Fleccy & J.D. You both seem to agree a divi cut is priced in. Does that mean you think the divi will be cut, & if so when? By priced in, do you mean if no divi cut the sp will rise? Some might ague that the high recent divi's are to blame for the falling sp!? For me, I need the divi to hold, as long as the sp doesn't fall.

I don't disagree as well. As the French would say, Qui Qui. Not that the the French are known for being that positive? But that's another matter! I love the French really, (most of the time)?!

Well I still like you!! Cant agree with you though on the mortgage thing.. A bank only owns your house ( or part of it) if you default, & I'm pretty sure that the vast majority of uk house mortgages don't default, but good luck anyway & regards.
