Another sad day for the long-suffering ITV shareholders with the
share price hitting new lows.
I wonder how long the Capital Group with a 10% holding and Liberty with
another 10% will put up with this abject performance before getting actively
involved.
The new Finance Director Chris Kennedy is an M&A specialist so hopefully,
something is bubbling under the surface.

Questor in Telegraph today says HOLD ITV for takeover
potential given its vast and valuable content.
Hurry up predators before we all go broke!!

Correction
Following the continuing Sterling / Euro declines the actual proceeds from Vodafone
for Liberty's cable assets are c £17 billion ( € 19 billion) and not £15 billion
as stated in my last post.
Everything is falling into place for Malone yet again but will he pounce
on ITV ?

Vodafone confirmed this morning that the purchase
of Liberty Global's cable assets in Germany and CEE will be concluded
in the next few days following EU approval.
So Liberty will have c £15b to play around with and its intended
focus is in the UK.
It is now or never for Liberty in relation to ITV as I cannot imagine Malone
sitting on the 10% holding in ITV indefinitely.
We shall see as the ITV share price moves lower yet again after
a damp squib rally post results.

The Telegraph speculating in its article on the results yesterday
that " regardless the pressure on ITV and its share price has triggered
a new round of speculation that the broadcaster could become a takeover
target"
If I had a pound for every time I have read about takeover rumours
involving ITV I would be a rich man.

I feel tomorrow could be a good entry point after a possible
early morning negative reaction to the Interim results.
I am hoping this will prove the low point for the share price and a catalyst
for recovery depending on how positive McCall is on the 2nd half trading.
Also, the Interim dividend will be announced and maybe an update
on the sale of the Southbank property ( potential proceeds up to £200m)
I see an initial fall in the share price but hopefully a rebound as the market
digests the results.
Pure speculation on my part but we have to be near the bottom now
or otherwise, ITV's days as an independent company may be coming to an end.
Big day for the Dame's reputation after 18 months in charge and having
overseen such destruction in shareholder value since her appointment.

We really need some good news on Wednesday after the
last 2 years of gloom.

Morgan Stanley broker note on media companies out
today with ITV downgrade to £1 .
Obviously it lowers the price to a level where Liberty Media may
find attractive.

You are not alone in wondering at the shocking share price
level particularly when one looks at the potential valuation of
ITV Studios as a standalone business. A valuation of £5 billion for the
Studios based on 18/20 times EBITDA is consistent with International content
studios and producers valuation multiples ( and increasing) with the content wars heating up.
We longstanding investors remain perplexed but patient.

Another totally dispiriting day for ITV shareholders with a 4%
drop in the share price.
Have the 1st half year's results been leaked?
We need some encouraging words from the Dame next week
to stop the rot.

The suspected manipulation of the share price can only have
one objective which is to lower any potential takeover offer.
Liberty is sitting on a big paper loss on its c10% holding and either
wants to sell its stake or make a bid.
I am sure Mr Malone is examining the options and he is not one
for taking a loss of c£400m on an investment.
We await developments.

Sadly the lord has not giveth here in ITV but taketh for the
past 7 years.
Even a small jump in the SP yesterday was smashed back down today
which is now becoming alarming and, sadly, commonplace.
Very wearing and worrying for all long term holders and not a hint of any
good news not to mention a takeover which now seems an unlikely event.

Crazy reaction to what were very encouraging results from
the Extension Trial.
The results were leaked on Thursday and c 5m shares traded
but when there was little reaction to the results on Friday
trading positions were closed in a selling panic ( c 6 million shares
traded).
The share price will move back up slowly and there are a few more twists
to this story yet imho

The extension trial results were obviously leaked yesterday
and massive short term trading ( c 5m shares dealt) ensued.
When the expected bonanza failed to materialise , panic selling took place today.
The share price will settle down once these traders and sadly some
panicked holders are done getting out.
Stay calm and wait for the dust to settle is my advice for what it is worth.

I predicted this rise at 11am when I saw Level 2 changing.
It may be a pump and dump or a leak of the Extension Trial results.
Lanstead do not throw £2.6m into a dead duck so, just maybe, the
worm is turning.

Strong buying volume and very weak offers on Level 2
Interesting price movements today.
After all, it is Immupharma and AIM so who is surprised.
