hi, i was wondering what % of funds might be returned to shareholders? If it was 2B£ this could be near £4.70,
what are your thoughts on the figure to be returned?

hey Volcano, indeed quite a rise today, did buy a few more based on where the price was, only a few as not much spare cash sadly. hope to see this increase substantially from here as what a decline recently, possibly 70%?

well even if they are on the floor now and don't recover soon, likely a good buy for the future, might be back over £1 or £2 in a few years and div (albeit likely to be temporaily terminated) will be re instated when they can afford it

Funny to think for obvious reasons, sirius would have been quite a safe portfolio place holder recently. Good news for those of you want buy Anglo at a good discount, this market rout could take us really low, and can only guess we've a good way to go yet sadly

the share price is certainly drifting further off the 5.5p offer...... i'm not sure if 10% of the offer price could represent near 80% no vote, but i would be first to admit not understanding how probabilities are priced in

aal will not double as a result of sirius, may add 1B anually to ebitda, if sirius figures right, so maybe a 15% rise for that one factor alone.....
but still not a bad share to own perhaps.

remembered just now CF's share purchace last year, his sign that he was confident in the company. wonder if that was his sign to hold out for the AA offer, can't quite remember when he bought them now

Hey moniman, id never thought of looking at the shorts on Halfords, they are relatively low at under 4%. so def looks like it is not being targetted. good sign for investors. will the shorts close now? hmm i'm guessing teh existing shorts have prob been in the trade since the £3.00 days so they can prob afford let the share price climb on them, but it would not be a good idea for them to short further.... unless the uk economy tanks in teh next 12 months. if things stay stable im guessing we'll see a higher share price....

I spend some time looking at Halfords recently again, as a company they may have low operating margins that have fallen greatly and quite a low return of capital employed, but with the valuations as depressed as they are I would be surprised if we do not see some return to the mean form here. Take into consideration if we get some tail winds for the company, say a stronger £, this would see a substantial rerate in earnings and share price too. I did manage also to see how price to book value has changed over the past 5 years or so. I don’t normally look at this but as I was curious I found the data on Morningstar, price to book is now 0.82x against a five year average of 1.58. But I know things could get worse if the uk consumer has less money to spend but for now I’m happy with a 12% earnings yield where I get around 7% of that as a dividend, even after the dividend was cut.

bought this share a couple of years ago, saw the price fall, took the dividend hit but thought hey i'll hold this based on the div still being 5%. I am a bit worried about the debt, and i ask myself is it worth holding for a 5% dividend? They make stonking great losses each year, have a pile of debt a government would be proud of and news flow is really negative. Is that really worth 5%???
I know cash flow generation is strong, but they know how to spend it, seems like that risk is worth more than 5%.... Whats worrying the proposed spin out of the tower co has done very little for the share price, up 10% initially than it has drifted back down to where it was.......

Morning folks, i have been following the saga of shopping centre reits. Would anyone in the know be able to hazard a guess why intu's rental yield on its portfolio is substantially higher than the likes of hammerson. i think inyu generates a rental yield of 6% while hammerson is more like 3-4%. At the moment have a similar value of net assets. between 8.7B and 9B....
i don't know but it suggests to me that either hammersons portfolio is vastly overvalued in comparison to intu, or intu's portfolio is extremely under valued -- all viewed from a net asset value perspective, not from a share price of course....

any thoughts on this?

I hold aal have done for years, as well as being a sxx holder. Likely to increase sxx exposure when opportunities present

Hopefully Boris kind to the economy and keeps inflation down, if so could easily see 50% appreciation from here

5.5p is 36% in proportion to the last equity raise last year.. not that bad in the grand scheme of things could have been worse.
for those with large capital gains to offset on their next tax return maybe now is a good time to sell at a loss, certaintity of crystalising the loss now, rather than if the anglo or other funds arrive this tax year or next.... (maybe it makes no difference)
