Engadine Partners LLP & Portsea Asset Management LLP bought back around 1% of shares in issue yesterday. Don't know what was going on today, but as Baribo stated high volume as was last few days. The price would suggest that someone was selling out of a large position. Maybe it was someone increasing a short position.. Oh well that'll help Lighthouse buy some more, unless they have their fill

short sellers can be absoloutely ruthless and often when they have a bone between their teeth they are determined to keep hold of what they are shorting, even when the market moves against them....
but doesn't change my opinion

Hard to say Ramboo - i personally am not willing to put any more money to work, but i am holding as i think they are worth more.
hard to say what will happen, but lighthouse may still be buying and those that have shorted may still want to buy back more, plus positive news stories once the malls and outlet villages are busy and reopen, thats my narrative anway, might be wrong. often am

probably we have been a bit overbought in the last few days, pull back as expected, as would happen on any share. onwards and upwards path still possible, possibly likely. i'm certainly not selling , would not think of trimming the position till 150 or 200 achievied, or thereabouts...

Jeez, shorts dropped another 0.5% yesterday, poss 4 million bought alongside what the funds were buying..............
nice recovery continues...

Quick look on the short tracker interest shows shorts have fallen by 0.5%, doesnt sound alot but that must be some 3.8Million shares bought back. As a possible scenario we could see short positions fall back from 13% to 9%, additional 31 million shares needing bought from the market.... hmmmm that could prove interesting.............. better get those short positions closed promtly!

I guess that is priced in already Sains, hammerson already wrote down their portfolio by a considerable margin at last year end, couple months back, and the year before... not to mention the shares were trading at something like a tenth of net asset value so i think a 20-60% fall is already well and truely priced in..

I wonder how the share price will react to this news. Based on some peoples views, it might reactive positively, surprised at the timing a bit

I guess when the shares have been under a £1 the company may have been a serious target for a takeover, quite possible that an offer could be made, as someone said on advfn, buying a £5 for 50p -- last week.........

But ridiculous that they turned down a bid of £6.35 a share a few years ago -- apparently it under valued the company........

Hard to say where this will go over the next few weeks, Pokercips. I'm tempted to take profit too, but this could continue up till mid june based on the shops in their malls reopening, and flow of semi positive news.....

Ive heard in other countries people are shrugging of their aversion to malls and going back again, in big numbers (and not always maintaining the social distance) im just tempted to let this run further...... disapointed in the momentum stalling out this week too. Weird with this fall back early morning and recovery thereafter -- guess it is the battle of the shorts against those buying...

I hope they have more stock coming in soon! i guess they'll have active supply chains now and i believe many countries such as china are mainly back at work......

Interesting that hardly anyone engages with halfords on twitter, they do not seem to be on top of their social media at all. Facebook, only engagement tends to be angry customers. But that's quite common with customers on Facebook. But they should do better on twitter

I wonder when the next Rns will be, will they be able to announce a higher percentage of last quarters rent as being collected? Surely as shops ready to reopen, paying their rent will come up their agenda, at least for some.., you'd think this should be a touch higher than it is based on the interest in the shares from lighthouse. Last few days have been a bit lack lustre, struggling to hold at the 64p level, positive Rns would be welcome

One major beneficiary of all the short selling has been lighthouse of course, they should send a thank you card to all the short selling companies. Apart from the short sellers and lighthouse the general share holder had not done well out of it. Unless you've added considerably to your position. Only way to keep up with the big boys, if you believe in the company

Read lighthouse capital raising equity to take advantage of buying shares in hammerson and take advantage of market volatility through other investments, looks like this has further to go

I was thinking back to Anglo American and its low in January 2016, OK so not same scenario by any means, but when sentiment changed, just a little there was a 4 year trend upwards, surely when shops tentatively reopen and rents get paid surely this will recover ever so slightly... Always darkest before the dawn

You could be right on the 140 by Friday, but I think your view on if the fundamentals have changed is flawed, no further covid related sales? really? Have you been reading the flood of articles with regard to how bikes sales and repairs are overwhelming all bike retailers, trends here to continue bit further. Personally can't comment on share price predictions but things are looking pretty positive, especially for those that bought since March 23
