This is Furniture news on the appointment: 'Paul Pindar is to step down from his role as chairman at D2C sleep wellness brand eve Sleep on 26th May. He will be replaced by Eve's current COO, Mike Lloyd.
A strategy consultant by background, Mike was a partner at Oliver Wyman,....'
Actually, Steve Davies is Chief Operating Officer at Eve sleep and Mike Lloyd is Chief Operating Officer (and main Board member) of McCarthy & Stone.

Personally, I wouldn't expect the new chairman to buy such a lot in one go. He'll probably get options that would cost less too. Happy to be proved wrong but just my opinion.
Only reason he'd buy a bunch now is if he expected SP rises sooner rather than later (which is why I'd be happy to be proved wrong).

Bit of a fag-packet calculation but I need – based on current Living Wage / hour – for AVCT to go to around 7500p to pay for all lovely the time I’ve spent reading this BB :-)

Eve was last at 10p in Feb 2019. It took 13 moths to fall to 0.85p, in March 2020. The climb back over the last 13 months has been rather slower, only standing around 5p now. So I agree with Stefan that 10p could be end of the year at the present rate, or by Easter 2022, though we have plenty of scope for news along the way.
If I had spare funds I might well think that Eve would be a reasonable bet over the next year. Certainly, I'm happy to maintain my present holding in the hope that it will double in value within a year (there's always the risk that it won't happen of course).

Someone else shares our confidence; nice.
I wonder if it's part of a plan.

I hope not momoni; from memory I believe Paul P has put a lot of money into Eve. He probably gave the push to the last exec. team, and hired James Sturrock – who hired CC. He must still own a stack of the shares. If he sells I imagine there'd be a decent fall in the sp.

Eve Sleep PLC (LON.EVE) has changed its chairman and seen its shares rise, which may perhaps be a little hurtful to the outgoing executive.

The departee from the company - which likes to call itself a sleep wellness business - is Paul Pindar who will be replaced by Mike Lloyd, currently chief operating officer at McCarthy & Stone.

The announcement of the appointment can only be called a bit of a love-in.

Pindar said chairing the company for five years had been a privilege. He said now that the company's rebuilding strategy was complete - it started revamping its business in 2018 - it was time to inject fresh thinking and called Lloyd an exceptional candidate.

Chief executive Cheryl Calverley said working with Pindar had been "unexpectedly delightful" and added: "Mike will bring a different energy to the role, challenging and stretching the eve business to accelerate for growth. He's a remarkable character, and is the perfect fit to help eve take advantage of what lies ahead. I'm personally both excited, and slightly awed by the opportunity that having Mike as chairman places in front of us."

And Lloyd said: "Eve is at a positive inflection point - having now created sound foundations it can look to profitable growth. I am excited to be joining at this time, and to be able to put my experience and energy into supporting eve in grasping this opportunity."
The shares are up 12.24% or 0.6p at 5.5p.

I've not looked closely at new Chairman CV but he must know CC from their AA days. She wouldn't invite her pals in (AA link can't be a coincidence) if she thought Eve is a dud. Seems like she's making it more in her image than before.

Hi Surfie. Yes, individual timings make a big difference. I’ve been down by as much as you or more, when the sp went down to around 1p. But now (with average of 3.4) I’m well in the blue. If you do want to get out I think you’ll find an opportunity arises sooner or later but I will be holding as I am one of the ones who believe that Eve should be fine - or prosper.
I imagine there’ll be a director buy from the new chairman before very long, once formally appointed.

Morning Surfie, more of an ascent for last 10 months - albeit not in a straight line - following the usual pattern of falls after updates and rises into updates (so rising around mid-May I would speculate). People understandably get bored between updates, wondering if they should trust cc...

So, new chairman (former AA too) and AGM for May 26th (bit of a trading update?) so all good.

377 TP reviews so new record and month not yet over; record except for Black Friday November. So Q1 almost certainly a good one for Eve.
Off-topic: I consider 377 a lucky number as used to be the best bus I caught as a child / teen (more convenient than the 378!). Where did I grow up? You too?

Wyn, only my guess but perhaps Rookie thinks that just some Eve folk will be tempted elsewhere by more than the 8p here?!
