Wyn, when you were buying and selling FTSIE 100 / 250 companies around results time, were you selling the day before the results, or on the day of results? When did you find the peak selling price was, more times than not?
I know we struggle to maximise our money but I used to have RMG as my main investment / first investment after Vince Cable made people open an HL account to take part in the IPO at £3. Without RMG and Vince Cable I wouldn't have shares.
RMG went up, and I bought more. It went down. I sold on a small rise (at around 180p) and now it's back above £5! If I'd done nothing I'd perhaps be about where I am now; it's ironic to me anyway!

The only post from Wyn I'd vehemently disgree with was when he said, possibly more than a year ago, that he'd become a more risk-averse investor!

I wouldn't be surprised if UK does make a profit this year; it's just CC's style to say where the money for France is definitely coming from (the bank account) and then surprise us with a RNS to say "actually, we've exceeded expectations and we can use UK money instead and maintain the bank balance" – or spend it on A, B, C...
These are just my thoughts based on her apparent character and previous upgraded statements; I can't prove it's true, just hoping that it is, based on the wider picture of online retail trading and review numbers etc.
I will await the next hard news with great interest!

Too many unknowns (how much will they decide to spend in France? How will sales respond out of lockdown) for me to speculate but CC and her predecessor JS have taken this to the brink of breaking even and every commentator says that the accelerated shift online will not reverse. TBH, I trust CC to cary on the great work.
If someone had said, 14 months ago, that we'd go from 0.9p to 5.10 / 5.20 with a spike above 8p, that would have sounded.. kind of rampy?
Anyway, I must have belief or I'd sell up and that isn't going to happen on the present evidence. And AimT, if I may say, I doubt you'd be here just to comment on Eve's progress if you didn't see some money to be made. News and updates will begin to arrive in a few weeks so I see a rise before long, even if we don't hold the current level in the short term. There are so many other opportunities and people like to jump from horse to horse as we know.

Hi Aim, I suspect it's a reaction to people saying it will go bust – which I don't agree with – though I only have my sights set on a gentle rise in fortunes. I think eve will walk before it runs which is fine by me.

Aim, you seem happy to talk about your plan so I'm intrigued as it doesn't quite add up to me atm.
If there is consolidation you've previously said the new bigger company will also be loss making if it's someone in the same sector (see below). So you'd take a punt at 3p and expect a mini sp rise and then sell? Just seems like you're spending your time on lots of 'ifs' and 'maybes' when – unlike most people here – you don't believe in any long term future for bed-in-box plus sleep extras. I can't see you staying in a loss making bigger company but maybe you will?
Surely there are better bets for your money if that's what you really believe? It means – and I'm guessing – it's a quick profit you're aiming for, buy at cash and then out soon after, which is fine if everything falls into place for you. Who wouldn't take a quick profit. Personally I'm hoping to make more money by staying but I'm not the most successful or experienced investor on LSE!

Fair enough, but what makes you think consolidation more likely when consolidation didn't take place at less than 1p?
Taking a punt at 3p would indicate that Eve is doing better than it was just over a year ago, so moving in the right direction.
In fact, consolidation didn't take place at (from memory) around 6p when it was seriously considered..
I don't think people exclude consolidation (CC said they'd consider, if an offer was great / fabulous; can't remember her exact words) but my expectation is that eve will continue to expand its range and do well enough now that there's been an extra lease of life. On-line is the way forward; eve should be fine with or without a suitor.

Aim, you really must have talked yourself out of buying by now?! You said that you'd buy around the value of the cash but that's not sensible; if you believe eve are doomed then the cash would run out and your shares would be worthless, even if you only pay 3p - 2p - 1p for them.
Since the SP rose a tad (so far) today, your wait for 3p seems less likely rather than more likely to be achieved. The moving average for TP reviews over 12 months seems to be rising, and they were nearly at break-even by December. If France goes well you may regret not buying at 5p. Just my take anyway.

Without wanting to put words in people's mouths I think we'll probably agree that we'd rather be invested in Eve than in U.S Casper. Casper might well look at eve for a few tips. (Hopefully the won't look at acquiring CC!).
Half way through April and 160 TP reviews, and running-total for the last 12 months is 4% up now, from when I noticed it'd just passed 3000 reviews for the year for the first time. Early days to be drawing conclusions from that figure but I'm glad it's up rather than down.

Chris, Wyndrum has some v. good ideas but everything seems to be waiting on news. I have AVCT, SNG and Tils, all with news of different types due imminently (any minute) or fairly imminently.
I've followed one tip into HE1 Helium One Global Ltd NPV which has done well since I bought quite recently, but that's a gamble on whether they 'strike' the gas where they are drilling. My wife is in the gas industry and they value helium highly.
MRL Marlowe plc Ordinary Shares is one I found and seems to be rising. They divisions to do with fire safety which I feel will continue to be a growth sector.

Buying at 16 and 18p; those were the days!
Fortunately I am now in the blue after averaging down, but it's been a close thing. I tend not to average down now, on other shares. Most of the signs look good to me (and I have more experience than I did in 2018) so I continue to hope for Eve's prosperity.

The pattern is rarely identical but should give us an idea of when things might happen. The SP usually rises into any kind of update (so anyone waiting for 3p / 4p doesn't have a great deal of time ;-)

MrAdventurous, you're absolutely correct, the Chinese are simply in charge of the world's factory. But my point is that ordering the Innova test to then destroy it in the hope of reducing the stockpile so that Avacta's test will be used more is just Anti-Social. It makes capitalism embarrassing; I'm embarrassed to be associated with such behaviour. People would look at us and think we are completely selfish and amoral.
Just don't order the tests if you don't intend to use them as intended (behaviour that will also increase the National Debt for the kids to deal with later).

I've noticed a couple of people say they've ordered Innova tests, only to bin or burn them; I think I saw a photo of a batch in a chiminea on Twitter, and similar comments here, which received 37 Recs.
We may not like them; we think they are Chinese rubbish; we'd much rather people / the Govt. bought ours and make us lots of money once news comes out – but ordering tests to destroy them is simply anti-social.
To make the tests, the Chinese dig up lots of coal and burn it to make electricity, sending tons of CO2 into the atmosphere to – probably – heat the planet and harm our children's futures (if not our own).
Would we purposefully litter (like the yobs in the park) because we hold shares in Serco, and Serco might get a bigger fee for clearing up our mess? Or leave the company car’s engine to ‘idle' outside our house just because we have shares in BP / Royal Dutch Shell, to theoretically push up the price of our holding by one millionth of one percent?
If you don't want to use the Innova test before our Sovereign test comes along, fine; in that case just don't order one from the Govt’s site (so saving the national debt a few £s too).
On another matter, and I know little of charts beyond just about where to find the RSI chart on HL, anyone who writes ‘charts are rubbish’ just can't believe in 'support levels' for SPs, or 'Resistance levels' on the way up. You can’t be a sceptic and a believer at the same time and clearly most people here act on support and resistance levels to inform their own decisions. That's my take on herd behaviour anyway, at one of the simpler levels.
