Channel 4 today announced the six short-listed finalists of its £1.1m Diversity in Advertising Award......

Six brands stand to win £1 million worth of Channel 4 commercial advertising airtime, boosted further by an additional £100k bespoke social media campaign created by the broadcaster’s award-winning in-house digital content team 4Studio, covering both production and media value across Channel 4’s popular Facebook, Instagram and YouTube Channels.

On 7th October, Effie UK held its virtual 2021 Summit & Awards Celebration where 12 winners were announced. The winners were chosen for being those that most effectively solved a marketing challenge, connected with the target audience, and achieved outstanding results.

Aldi UK came out on top, winning the Grand Effie for "Aldi 2010-2020: How taking an alternative path took Aldi from Shame to Pride." They were also awarded Gold alongside eve sleep by Creature London & Goodstuff Communications and Rugby League World Cup 2021 by McCann Manchester. Aldi’s award came in the Sustained Success category, in recognition of the retailer’s phenomenal growth in the last 10 years, taking it from a tiny player with 2% market share to the UK’s No 5 supermarket.

eve Sleep and the Rugby League World Cup 2021 both won in the small budgets category.

Juliet Haygarth, Managing Director, Effie UK, said: “The Gold winners this year were all in either the small budget or sustained success categories: they either got creative with limited resources, or – in line with Mark Ritson’s advice from last year’s summit – they stuck to their strategy and kept the lights on.

“We’ve never had a more diverse set of winners: the list includes everything from large financial services to scale-ups on a mission, and everything in between. The type of work is equally varied, ranging from sponsorships and event marketing to community management.”

Certainly easier (and probably cheaper, if only because of the currency transactions) to buy Tils in London now rather than later in the US. I wonder if there won't be a bit of a rally as we approach next Friday 4.30pm.
Has to be balanced against sellers who want to get out before the deadline too, but maybe they've pretty much departed anyway.

Looking at the French site visit figures it's plain to see that there was a rise after the advert aired; 35K visits in April and >100K visits in July. Whether the rise in May and June is down to the ad. is harder to tell.
Assuming that at least some visits lead to sales there should be an H2 boost.
Visits trailed off after July peak but still higher than April.
I assume they will put the foot on the marketing gas again if things slow down again, now that they've made the decision to push harder in France. Having some cheap airtime on Channel 4 here should free-up a little cash for the French market.

I had a chat with a chartist member about Tils, but on another BB. After taking a look, Wyndrum made this observation, from the charts only:

'Tils chart indicating a reversal may be underway with a confirmation of a close above 54.5p (Stop would be 48p (risk 7p). First target 72p, reward 17p a bit tight (for me) at 2.5 times risk reward. 2nd target 85p , 30p reward much better....
