Hmm I just read through today's Cotec RNS in detail. Surely the dates below are wrong??

Birmingham Uni will still get their royalties if a bigger fish snaps up Mkango or Hypromag. They still own the patents and it would just be someone else paying them royalties.

Well Hypromag isn't going to save the US, we're 2 years from production and will only provide approx 10% of US demand. Trump has shot the US in the foot by p*ssing off China without a Plan B.

Interesting video thanks. The guy mentions Meteoric in Brazil (ASX: MEI) which appears to have rocketed last week. Anyone run their slide rule over it? Looks like they have huge resources but their grades aren't super-high, and they're only working on their PFS at the moment, so probably 4-5 years away from mining? Market cap last Thursday was $100m or thereabouts.

This is a bit odd if it's dated 2024? There was no RNS on 22 April 2024 of course.

If the RNS is meant to be 2025 and was mistakenly released after hours then I suppose it's not market sensitive.

In terms of the actual content it all sounds highly encouraging, although perhaps the USA timeline is slipping slightly? Previously I think they said FID/NTP around mid-year but now they're only saying H2? Perhaps it's the chaos caused by the orange moron has meant they've had to go back and review their construction costs? I'm sure it will still be highly lucrative as a business given the REE situation, but they will have to make sure the numbers are clear. Or maybe there's a slight delay due to the plan to upgrade not just to a 3rd vessel in Texas but also two additional plants?

Anyway it doesn't make much difference to the thick news flow coming up in the next 2-3 months. Hopefully the SPAC contract completion and pricing in the next 2 weeks?!

I've said that before, if you throw enough money at something you can usually deliver it faster. I'm sure they could propose to the US govt that they could pull it into late 2026 in return for an additional $50m grant....

There will probably be a bit of psychological 'round number' resistance at 20p, it's human nature. But the story here is so compelling that I don't think it will last long!

That's just my feeling Esduk. We don't really have any cash, the owners of the spac will want a chunk of the equity and Cohen will want several million I imagine. I'd be happy with 75%, 80% would be excellent IMO, yes perhaps that might include selling 5% to raise funds. Who knows, not long to find out hopefully!..

The SPAC deal is Mkango reversing their Songwe mine and Pulawy factory into a Nasdaq listing, to realise value. It's anticipated that Mkango will own around 70-75% of the listed company, completely independently from the REE recycling business they're bringing to market this year and next. The valuation of the listed company is expected to be announced in April sometime, which will indicate how much Mkango's stake will be worth. Comparisons are being made to other US-listed companies which have broadly comparable assets to Songwe/Pulawy and are valued at hundreds of millions of dollars.
