Stockgenius don't leave it too long, despite the tiny published volume this morning I can sell 250k in one go at full bid price... So someone is buying in the background... Hopefully there will be a rebound in the not too distant...

CPX would only need to make a net profit of £1m to justify its current £15m valuation. With all the sales agreements with major global distributors, I'm pretty sure it will be making that profit and more by this time next year. Meanwhile the patents must surely be worth 3x the current valuation alone?

I'm pretty sure the very recent deal with MP said that the US govt will provide a 100% offtake for both defence and COMMERCIAL uses?

Imagine if we get an MP-like agreement in the next week or two... US govt to offer us a floor of $110/kg NdPr (or even $90/kg)... And guarantee to take all our output... Plus $40m invested for a 20% stake in the company... Added to the $93m soft loan already announced... And arrange another $300m commercial loan to build the two extra plants (like MP got a $1bn commercial loan)... We'd be at 50p on open IMO!

Who know, if our and Cotec's management have impressed on the US govt that we need feedstock tied up, they might even regulate waste streams so as to create heavy fines for sending REE magnets to waste...?

Govt subsidies for economically, environmentally and national-security beneficial projects and sectors has been out of favour in the West for decades, hence why China has us by the balls in so many sectors. Luckily western governments have finally woken up!

not really, the lower price chinese evs are now substantially cheaper over their lifetime than dirty fuelled cars, hence why they're selling like hot cakes.. even the european evs are close to parity on lifetime costs (and still falling)... although i fear that the chinese will dominate as they took decisive action to massively promote and fund their ev industry and r&d efforts at least 20 years ago... whereas we in the west ****ed around and left it to the market... sound familiar? rees to a tee!

another parallel with rees is that ev batteries can now be 96% recycled at plants springing up across europe - a bit like hypromag's mission to not throw away vital minerals!

The dip on Friday was a bit disappointing given the great news flow and the wider REE context, however remember that we closed on Thursday at 28-29, so to drop to 27-28 is only a 1p drop and not the 3p drop that the headline shows, due to the high UT on Thursday. Let's hope we get some continued positive news flow, I genuinely think we will get an MP-like announcement within July... The US govt isn't messing around...

LWHL, why be oddly cryptic, why not tell us the name of the company you're referring to? Are you worried they'll sue you? Sounds like it's public knowledge though.

The difference with this 'unnamed company' and Mkango is probably that there is concrete evidence (from just yesterday!) that the US government is now throwing large sums of money at developing domestic REE magnet supply.... It's not hope and speculation! Given that MP won't satisfy US demand by a long way, and our similar short timeframe (around 2 years to production) it's hard to see why the US govt wouldn't throw more money Mkango's way? The only reason I could think why not is that Trump or Kushner might have personal interests and shareholdings in Mountain Pass? They're certainly shamelessly corrupt as individuals.

The US govt has just announced a major intervention to secure 10,000 tons p.a. from MP by creating a big new plant, but clearly that's not enough for domestic demand forecasts. The govt seem to be moving fast, and I'm very hopeful that Hypromag will get a very similar 3-plant deal announced within weeks... possibly days???

... even with the best intentions, an AI tool reflects the subtle biases of whoever created it, or whoever selected the data it is trained on, that's perfectly logical... but in some cases those aren't subtle biases but deliberate disinformation like with Grok ...

Anyone who gets their information from AI is a fool IMO. Apart from being very far from perfect in their current state, AIs are just another tool for their owners to manipulate for disinformation (especially Grok, just look at the news on that in recent days/weeks). Use your noggins and do your own (proper) research! Everyone's brains will turn to mush otherwise, literally.

I've just logged in to see the excellent news re. the US govt's guaranteed $110 base price for NDPR, fantastic! I assume that's a genuine "base" price, and that if demand skyrockets in the next few years and NDPR goes to $200+ then Mountain Pass (and all other producers, like Hypromag - the US govt couldn't offer a floor price to one US producer and not another??) will get the higher price? Having said that, even at $110 Hypromag will be coining it in. Meanwhile the EU may well be willing to offer an even higher base price than $110 to help develop Songwe and Pulawy, under the Critical Minerals finance framework that includes those projects - why wouldn't they, they're desperate, Songwe could be in early pilot production in as little as 2 years, it supports jobs in the EU at Pulawy, and as we've said the cost of the magnets is a pretty small part of any EV, wind turbine, fighter plane etc.

It's because there was an Uncrossing Trade (UT) at a higher price, 30.5 pence, at 16:35 ie. just after the close of trading. This happens on many stocks, especially if they are very active like MKA at the minute. It's a sort of post-close "wash up" where the market makers get together to agree to match any demand for buying and selling which was still unfulfilled at 16:30. The price of the UT then forms the official closing price, which can be higher or lower than the actual spread at the 16:30 close. Often at 08:00 the next day the opening spread is reinstated to match the closing spread the day before, leading to an "apparent" sudden rise or fall at open, compared to the UT price. That's not always the case though, and in this case the UT trade was a big one at 230k shares, possibly showing a strong demand from buyers. Anyway, if the SP does drop back to 28 - 29p spread tomorrow at 08:00 it's nothing to panic about, it's just restoring the closing spread from today. I hope that's cleared it up!

Recycling is an absolute no brainer. I'm hoping that we get an announcement of a $40-50m govt grant for Hypromag USA very soon. Added to the $93m loan we'll be able to press the button marked 'FID' straight away :-)

Yes it's very reasonable to say that although magnets are technically critical to end products, they're not necessarily financially critical. If an EV has 5kg of REE magnets in it, costing say $250, it's not a disaster for the vehicle price if manufacturers have to pay $500 or even $750 for them. Obviously not ideal, but far from disastrous. And there will be no competitive issue as all manufacturers will have to pay the same.

Yes no problem at all if they need another say £5m to complete Germany commissioning and take forward concrete plans for Japan, S Korea, etc. If it's raised at 50p+ as we hope/expect then it will be a trivial dilution, and all go towards future growth.

Of course no money needs to be raised for Hypromag USA, as Cotec are funding the construction and rollout.

The drop today is on tiny volume, doesn't seem like any sellers left? Hopefully go blue later today or tomorrow.
