Well BG if you read CP's report on his and BD's meeting with the SCIR Board on Monday it would appear that any offer that they may have made for SCIR's 25% was considered insufficient for SCIR to accept it; which probably means that it was less than $20m.

Indeed any offer that they may have received was self-evidently insufficient to warrant being proposed to shareholders.

I strongly believe think that the costs of production of offshore gas will preclude it ever being used for domestic consumption. To provide the catalyst of economic growth for the Domestic economy and to give Domestic Industry a "leg up" the authorities will need to provide them with very cheap energy and hence will need to buy it in a as low a price as they can. There speed to market on onshore gas, the cost of production and the vast capacity will mean that by the time offshore gas is available they will not even need it....

Indeed boom.boom let's hope that APT deign to provide the AEX Board and shareholders with that information....

Most posters that have chosen to comment on this topic in recent days have been largely consistent in their recognition that my posts (and others) are neither overly negative nor, as you would prefer them to be, naively "gung-ho" but rational and cautionary. Thank goodness there are some on here that actually advise against being dragged in to the hyperbole of the "rose tinted spectacle brigade"; those that were fueling the FOMO of the inexperienced by advising them to jump in ahead of the F/O completion (delayed 17 times) and the 2021 CH1 Spud that is now a dim and distant disappointment.

So for clarity and as a reminder, I now have a Buy on my posts and have done for a few weeks now (the sp has been rising) after having been a "Hold" for many months previously (sp going nowhere). I have absolutely no reason to have to justify the tenor if my posts and will stand by everything I have previously stated and continue to say as being not "negative", as you would have it portrayed but simply common sense and without bias. It is a pity that your posts are not viewed similarly by all but the rampers, the naive and the deluded. They have long since recognised that the direction of your posts changes according to your stock position. What will happen to your Telegraph posts when you are no longer "long" - bloody hell Frank you will get banned from your own "happy-clappy" club!

I understand and accept all of that BG and hope there will be no further hiccoughs but past performance would give more than enough reason for caution. There are good reasons to hope that the Tanzanian "paradigm" has changed, not least the recent positive statements and mood music from the new President.

I really do hope that she is allowed to practice what she preaches.

I am less concerned about any possible license delay impacting the eventual Spud date as unless the delay is considerable there should (hopefully) be ample time to mitigate those delays; indeed there is the possibility (I stress possibility) that APT will plough in with their preparations regardless of any delay

You may well be right there BG but if I miss it I will be more than happy with the 11+ million I have already, including those I bought recently at circa 0.4p. Moreover it is my view that the license extension has already been "taken for granted" by most and hence is largely "in the price". Had it not been so I do not think we would have seen the sp rise of recent weeks. Consequently it will be something of a shock, if or when it doesn't happen.

I emphasise the "if" BG I am not saying it won't happen - I sincerely hope it does - but you will surely understand my scepticism after so many previous disappointments.
