Gordon you are making the assumption that they would be able to get someone to invest in them or to underwrite a raise - I don't think they would in the company's current predicament - typically they would buy at a discount and then immediately sell them into the market to gain a margin - but right now there is no market for them to sell into; you can;t sell 1 million shares let alone 100's of millions.

A loan, maybe but only from a friendly lender, but a raise? Not a hope, in my view.

Another factor that needs to be plugged into any equation BB and PC is the fact that (according to informal conversations at the AGM) He1 are anticipating selling all He1, effectively, at Wellhead to their offtake partner who then takes all risk and responsibility for and costs of downstream transportation, export etc Hence they will be selling the He1 at a "discount" to the market price - albeit Graham Jacobs did not think that the necessary discount would be "substantial". But on that basis I doubt that we would be getting the then equivalent of $500 per Mcf.

A raise? really? how on earth do you think they will get that away with and ever declining sp and no confirmation of the added value of the Cambay workover and new well programme? It would have to be at one hell of a discount and even then no guarantee that the "underwriters" would get their stock away at a premium - there is no market for SYN shares at present, who on earth would want to risk supporting a cash raise? If the workovers and the new well programme go anything other than very well they may well be nursing those shares for quite a while... NO, I don't think there will be a raise until after completion of the workover programme at the earliest and probably not until the new well programme is underway.

That is the reason I believe that (apart from common sense) the BoD decided to put the Medway CCS project on ice - to delay a potential raise for as long as humanly possible.

Initial Workover Activities

Cambay C-70: Cambay well C-70 was selected as the first workover candidate as a gas producer from the shallow Miocene reservoir. Despite promising initial production of up to c. 190,000 scfd, the well has experienced water influx. A final attempt to re-start the well using compression equipment will be made in the near future.

Cambay C-63: The workover on C-63 targeted oil production from the Eocene reservoir. The well was cleaned out prior to the installation of a sucker rod pump ("SRP"). The SRP was not able to be installed deep enough in the well to avoid "gas blocking" due to an obstruction in the wellbore. The forward plan is to mill out the obstruction so the SRP can be installed below the perforations to avoid gas blocking. Thereafter, contingent on establishing production, the well is a candidate for frac stimulation.

What your totally specious calculation (deliberately?) fails to take into consideration is the fact that in 2010 there were less than 400 million shares in issue and not the 4+ billion that there are now. So a Market cap of circa £160m in 2010 and £40 million now. So yes a big reduction but nothing even approaching the compound -17.8% reduction that you claim it to be.
