What are the U.S. regulatory requirements for releasing price sensitive information?
If the U.S. market is closed, surely that is no different to a 7am RNS here (or anything after market close the night before)?
I don't understand the logic of this argument of that timrframe, it was also mentioned yesterday.
If the market is closed then surely any time is OK, unless there is a specific U.S. requirement on this? Is there no opening auction in the U.S., or some other specific reason why it has to be at this time?

A few days ago there was a post suggesting a possible outcome of covid would be a merger, or takeover. BP was mentioned.
Think both companies have recognised the need for a move away from being seen as an oil company for some time now.
Any potential tie-up is more likely to be within the 'new' sphere of power, rather than oil imo.
Hydrogen looks an interesting area with potential for big growth in the coming years as I posted yesterday following a recent European Commission strategy announcement

The 2019/20 strategy update and drilling plans RNS from Jan 2019 stated the focus was to be on HH in 2019 with 2 horizontal wells with a target of 720-1,080 bopd from the first one alone.
This was to be followed by further horizontal wells in 2020.

SS seems to be trying to juggle too many balls at present.
Yes, get going with plans for other sites, but HH should be the bread and butter, the cash that pays for everything else.

Why no operational update and drilling plan for 2020/21 given that things are clearly so far behind? I have been calling for one for around 6 months now.
POO and Covid are not responsibe for much that is (or is not) happening here.
IOW is in danger of becoming the next distraction, which will be a very long and difficult process (imo).

Just get on with HH, and if there are problems, then at least tell us. The silence and the long periods of inactivity are really bad for sentiment here, as can be evidenced from the majority of the posts.
The recent planning decision was a blow. Things seemed to be turning more positive here finally.
News there, or anywhere may help to restore some of that positivity

SP just seems to be moving in line with price of oil currently.

Was just suggesting that the proposal for the (E)GM to approve the possible issuance of new shares is not to be seen as all doom and gloom.
More part and parcel of prudent company management, than what seems to be sen as a potential betrayal of existing investors.
Options for future growth preferable to no plan and desperate measures detrimental to investors and the company.
I don't see it as writing a blank cheque, more another card to play, rather than potentially having to go 'all in' with a poor hand.
Personally, I would not be looking to vote against this particular resolution

Not averse to alternate views, but some views are just too skewed and aligned to known disruptive sources to suggest an open mind.

It could. But if anyting happens in the next 8 months or so that requires rapid expansion, and this cannot happen through the issunig of new shares via a placing, the comapny is in a weak position, maybe even being taken over on the cheap.
Placings can also happen at a premium, if the reason behind them determine it, so dilution is not alwys the negative it is often seen to be.
The ability to issue new shares should be seen as a potential positive as well as a potential negative, depending on the reasons at the time, the terms of the deal and the potential outcome.
It allows options at a time when alternatives could be costly and detrimental to the company and gives the company an element of bargaining strength when considering the best possible action to take.
A varity of financing options, whether to be utilised, or not, is better than being backed into a corner.

Your rational points mean nothing to those who have no interest in ackowledging that there has clearly and definitely been a change in the company management and focus since GL took over.
It is tiresome to hear every day and a clear indication of the bitterness seen with the continual agenda of arrogant Alan and his acolytes.

Angus will be judged on current operations and the success (or not) of the projects under consideration by the market (rightly so), and I, for one, am happy to remain ivested to see the fruition of these aims (well, just Sf for me).
Yes, it is risky, but if anyone investing in AIM does not see this, then that is noone's fault but their own.
Apparently, if you lose money on AIM it is better to take out a court case against the company than accept responsiilty for your own nvestmet decisions. If you are winning, then everything else doesn't matter.
The posters who we both appear to have filtered have nothing worthwhile to offer here as they have zero ability to acknowledge any change here and apply any logical interpretation of the company announcements as to future activities and direction.
Their blinkered and clealry biased views are based only on past experiences, the desire to bring the comapny and bod down at any cost (due to failed action), and their desire to be shown to have called everything, which is all important for an arrogant few whose ego and 'being seen to be right' is more important than anything else.
I'm sure the gang's whatsapp group will be coming up with some new bashing ideas for next week.

Just one thing to add to resolution 2.
If the company is not permitted to issue additional shares, this would seriously impact the expansion capabilities for the company future.
If the company is not able to issue new shares (through a placing, for example) to raise new money to existing/new inverstors, then what options would be open to an AIM company?
You would be talking about companies like Riverfort making financing arrangements, and the company would be hampered by what many consider to be 'death spiral finance'.
Not scaremongering, but allowing the company to issue new shares is important until they at a tage in their growth that they can arrange better alternatives, such as using future sales to oopen doors to more suitable (and less restrictive) fund raising opportunities.
Demonstrate unhappiness with current strategy by using your shareholdervotes by all means, but not at the possible shackling of future development.

Disappointed with the drop.
Seemed pretty harsh given the update, but without immediate positives, doubt will be a factor and folk want things 'now' when it comes to results/returns.
Thought we would see the SP pull back before close.
Will be interesting to see the reaction from the bod to the announcements today.
The message seems pretty clear. Communication and updates are key with AIM companies. Investors will lose interest pretty quickly and move onto the latest shiny toy.
45% down personally, but not too concerned other than not being able to add further at this time.
Next week is a new week and covid is not going anywhere, The necessary approvals/authorisations will come through soon enough and the upside is still considerable (imo)

Totally agree with your last para, B190.
My friend was at BP during the Browne years, and since those days it seems to have a bit of a mixed personality and lack of real focus. Trying to be lots of things, but no clear direction.
Challenges not exclusive to BP, for sure, but the company needs to make a decision as to what type of company they want to be not just for the short-mid term, but for the long term.
BP is still a big player but does not come across as such (imo). Maybe past issues have resulted in a lack of confidence, or corporate aggression to really push into areas they would not have thought twice about in the past.
Still see this as a very good holding to have in a balanced portfolio, but more a steady Eddie than a potential rocket

I think all companies, even FTSE, need the ability to issue new shares via a placing of any type if required. It is prudent method if an opportunity arises to raise funds quickly, so they will arrange to have this as an option ahead of time in case it is needed, usually via the AGM to prevent having to call an EGM and perhaps spook the market with a special resolution.
Just because they have the ability to issue the new shares, doesn't mean they always will.
AIM is different, of course, where a placing is often the only realistic way to raise funds if no strong cashflow.
Getting the authority to issue new shares, doesn't mean there will be a placing here imminently. It will be there as a safety net

I started the week with 80% of posts here missing from just 6 posters in my filter and have not been able to see roughly 60% of posts all week.
4 in particular are relentless, clearly agenda driven it has become very personal with the Angus bod in particular.
It has been going on here for some 6 to 8 weeks now with 2 of the ex-chief rampers heavily involved in it all.
It is a joy not seeing the constant BS and scaremongering in their deliberate campaign here to stall any sensible discussion, spread doubt and confuse any new posters with their tag-team posting and deliberate use of out of date figures and time lines to suggest all is not well..
No win, no fee must not be all it's cracked up to be and their plan B is faltering with news updates and improving sentiment here too.
Good luck all genuine investors. Plenty of positives expected over the coming months and SF is progressing as expected

No missed news today, so far as I know,. The rise could be a knock-on from the EC announcement yesterday.
As for logic, this is AIM. Logic rarely applies imo.
