I think it means that the body does not see it as a threat and so does not try and zap it (immune response) although not a scientist so could be off the mark ;-)

Innova

In my opinion there would have been an RNS if he has banged on for 6 months about this gold standard saliva test only to change. Surely???? Personally I would not be best pleased if that is the case.

Lets not kid ourselves if it turns out to be an overly complicated swab test (just another swab) we are all going to be a little ****ed even though some on here claim its all gonna be alright. It would sadly explain the delays.

Having said that its all speculation and guessing from all of us. I will keep hoping that Al does not do us like that ;-)

I thought this was confirmed to be the Innova test from a thread earlier in the week (someone linked to a NHS letter). Happy to be wrong but that was my understanding

But the Innova test does not meet what the goverment are asking for. The goverment have said repeatedly they want people to be able to do tests in their home and go about their day (No medical proffesional adminstering). Unless Innova are shiping a healthcare proffesional with each test they are not going to get every contract. Who knows maybe they have a home test that needs no Helathcare worker to administer it in development but it is not something I have heard of.

I agree been a preffered supplier is an advantage but there is no preffered supplier for home test at the minute that Joe bloggs can do. Hopefully Avacta can become a preffered supplier in this space but we need a test first.

The Government are using them because they bought 20 Million of them. Why would they not use them. The Innova tests are been used to test NHS staff (according to a letter posted here) Again not a surprise(They have 20 million of these test why not use them?) Testing is needed now so why not use what is available? Maybe they will order even more Innova tests for the NHS (they need to be done by a health worker so would make sense). Maybe that will be Innovas slice of the market while home tests are Avactas eventually. Who knows all guesswork.

Avacta is getting no "Love" or no recognition as WE HAVE NO TEST!!!! That's not a guess that's fact. (but I still believe it will come). If we get the test out then we will see our name alongside the likes of Innova. I hate to be blunt but I still struggle to see why people do not understand that we do not currently have a LFT that can be bought so its not going to be in the sky in flashing lights. Patience

Also says healhcare provider in intended use which does not sound like "testing you can do yourself" as he said. Unless they also have something else up their sleeve? A weekend of guessing for us all ;-)

Nobody can say who it is with certantity but the key line for me was "Tests you can do yourself". Are there other home tests out there that dont need a trained medical professional?

Afraid not its MY test I knocked together in my shed from old mower parts and a chemistry set from when I was 10

Will probably be the SD bio sensor one as the other 2 on the list are swab but interesting they not starting for 3 weeks.
