My wife also works in a school in Derbyshire and brought about 8 LFTs home yesterday (she has to test twice a week). Unfortunately these are the Innova tests.

Teachers\support staff on holiday on full pay? Thats funny wish someone had told my wife she does not have to go into school EVERY day ALL DAY and work her arse off to look after children that are still going in, she then comes home and prepares work for our children to do the next day so that our kids dont miss out too (I also work full time but as I am home we dont send our kids in as it seems counter productive)

I live in that neck of the woods and worked down that area once upon a time its a decent size building its not some company working from a shed. The company I work for has used tests from them before.

Agree in part but I would say as a sales tagline. Avacta is a pioneering oncology therapeutic investment play with a diagnostic side that has a high chance of making significant additional revenue over the next 12 months due to the ongoing covid pandemic to expand its oncology pipeline (which as we all know is what AS really cares about in the long term) ;-)

It seems some people are surprised\worried by this news but it was pretty much assumed that surescreen would be supplying tests to the government as early as the start of december (there was the FT article pretty much saying this and the fact that there was a photo of Boris looking at LFTs in porton down and there were about 5 boxes of surescreen tests stacked there!)

So to me this was expected and it is good news for surescreen and good news we now have a british produced test but demand is still going to far outstrip supply for a long time.

There is still a huge opportunity for Avacta here, they start pumping out good performance tests and they will not be able to meet demand in the UK nevermind worldwide so I dont think the surescreen news is any reason for Avacta investors to panic. If you did not know about surescreen you have not done your research (It was covered on these boards)

Having said that AS really needs to be giving some news on the covid side of the business soon. I am still hoping that over xmas AS took some training courses on communication and it is going to be better than last year so I am being patient... for now
