The question is will ML suddenly be in news , or the Uk government say Dark is too important , I doubt it as many software companies are Usa owned and of critical importance to uk like Microsoft !

So look forward to the party - says the Optimist Ramping Bull … but Hold not buy ! :) or maybe just a few on the dips …

So around 11 key people will decide the outcome , TB lead deal maker on this project , and the heads of the 10 big shareholder factions , and the Ceo of Darktrace … what the Press thinks in the end will not matter !

For now Hold seems best option unless you want to take a calculated risk and buy on this dip and wait for the 650 p to 850 p :):( if and when it happens

As the leaks to press say , even if TB make offer , Dark will need a few months to study the offer carefully and the British government might say something too

In Avast case they approved the deal , and we saw a huge increase in Avast shares of over 44 per cent in a day and more since the government approved the deal partly due to U.S. dollar strength!

Seems like break up or down not happening today …boring flat share price in tight range

Maybe 2 shareholders with a colourful history ML and his wife , and legal proceedings against ML make Dark going private and then listing later in usa without ML / wife as shareholders is easier option …
A private fund like TB in easier position than a public listed company in Usa to buyout Dark

The longer Dark stays around 526 p the larger the swing upwards or downwards the share price could move … fingers crossed upwards !

Getsgrip great post - yes - and Poppy guidance on Sept 8 and again in mid October results likely very positive …. Which can support the share price , until other bidders come forward , the real value of Dark will come with a Usa listing , faster access to new clients and even better operational techniques / strategy / know how which TB and others can bring to the table to add value

2 weeks til results on Sept 8 ( that’s 10 trading days around )

I guess we should be grateful for each penny up , and that firms like TB and others are looking at Dark , a Crown Jewel in uk tech , gratitude !

With all due respect W , as far as I know , everyone knows , no one knows the price that TB knows it will offer in the end , even those in the know , don’t know what they don’t know , let alone mortals like us don’t know what we don’t know …

True - but many announcements in press are to confirm negotiation positions ( in this news article TB was not being criticised as a bad partner and Dark was not saying “ No” to buyout ) … this article shows Price needs to be higher that some people suggest here …

Agree with B , Cisco more synergies , Crowdstrike might be a more hostile bid especially if lots of overlap in similar cyber technology - where is the win win with CRWdD , Cisco with its Networking tech might be looking - Microsoft too !

Bobocaca - I certainly hope a reasonable deal can be hit

I certainly do Not encourage people to add or buy shares , but to Hold and see with most maybe

So I am giving 800 as a reason to maybe hold most holdings and not sell too early

Summit DT off loaded yesterday maybe 1 per cent of their 14/15 per cent holdings of Dark , a prudent move to reduce their holdings slightly by some 7 per cent

Given this reason a good premium to Brokers forecast possible :)

Watchman , certainly for a day or two wild swing could be expected and maybe over swing , but given excellent results and growth , I would expect it to come back to over 500 p more likely

We have further October results too !

Headwinds are inflation ( but they could increase their software prices ) interest rates , ML , and Nasdaq further sell off in next week

TB has chosen amazing timing to attempt a deal

I have exhausted most ideas … the only way to justify adding more to your price is Us Dollar strength today , good results , and stealing the Crown Jewels and opposition from placement investors at 750 p , that’s why I pitch from thin air 800 +

No guarantee any offer will happen , I am not adding on the the way up … not too greedy ! More conservative this year !
