Miggy - I actually feel for the old and vulnerable. Being told they will be first, and almost feeling pressurised into it. If they don't take it then potentially months of not seeing loved ones again and catching the virus, or take it without full results being known.

Very true Parsley. There could well be genuine reasons as to why target timescales may not be hit.

Not sure how they expect the NHS to be ready though by 1st December. My wife is a nurse and they are stretched beyond belief at the moment so I have no idea where they think the extra bodies will come from to do the vaccines.

Miggy - I am pro vaccine in all other respects but I am not high risk and don't know enough about the effects of a coronavirus vaccine to be confident. I wouldn't take it now. Could do me more harm than good.

I made a similar comment to my wife yesterday PMJH.

A vaccine will be delivered to the developed countries, with good infrastructure. I fear developing nations will be so far down the line that the media stop reporting this and it becomes another problem for those living in poverty.

That's partly why I thought some of the discussion on India was interesting yesterday. I can understand why they might give treatments EUA given the population, climate and wealth. How on earth do you get the vaccine to people in India?

Look at how the government have handled Covid so far - does anyone realistically expect we will be anywhere close to starting vaccinations by 1st December as they have suggested?

The NIHR have suggested a couple of months for our phase 3 trial to be completed. Getting into January or February, SNG will then be in a good place ready to be rolled out.

We'll know a lot more about the vaccines by then too. Just now there is so much still unknown and headline figures which will change.

We definitely still have our place in the fight. It may come earlier but I think Q1 next year is when SNG will truly find its place.

Miggy - the post I was replying to was suggesting that we should use SNG as a thereputic to manage Covid cases until such time as further testing has been undertaken on the vaccines and it was known to be safe.

I was trying to highlight that this strategy wouldn't be an option. SNG are scaling up to 100k treatments per month but the vaccines are into the tens of millions.

I completely agree that we are not an alternative to a vaccine.

The good thing is - I don't believe anything we're discussing on this board would be news to SH and RM.

From the offset their message has been vaccinate, treat and test.

I have strong belief that these vaccine announcements have not impacted the plans they have and the direction they have set for SNG.

Why let minor details like those get in the way of a good headline Parsley?

Wylie - I get what your saying but even if SNG got emergency approval tomorrow, we don't have the scale to deliver treatments to everyone who needs it.

The government are in a blind panic. There is no clear strategy on how to manage this pandemic. A vaccine is the quickest way to get 'something' to as many people as possible in as quick a time as possible.

Not saying it's the right approach, just that SNG are not in a position to offer a vaccine alternative in the short to medium term.

I would suggest our SP is 95% effective against vaccine efficacy announcements.

I write this objectively, not with my SNG shareholder goggles on.

If they don't know how many people are positive and asymptomatic, and whether those people can pass the virus on, this could be hugely dangerous.

You run the risk of creating super spreaders who believe they are immune or do not have Covid and will be carrying on with life as normal. All the while they could be spreading the infection.

I am very much pro vaccine - but only the right vaccine. I hope no shortcuts are taken just to rush something out. Especially if giving to key workers and the elderly first - could cause absolute chaos.

They will issue more results once more people test positive. This will increase the sample size.

Frank - it wasn't based on the first 95 people.

Both Pfizer and Moderna published results after the first 95 people displaying symptoms tested positive. 5 of the 95 had been given Moderna vaccine, the other 90 had not.

That is very impressive but what isn't known is how many of those vaccinated were either not infected or asymptomatic.

The share is worth what someone is willing to pay for it - which just now is about 107p.

It's been higher in the past and also significantly lower. It will also go higher in the future and maybe even lower.

This is probably no longer a share for day traders as news will keep coming thick and fast over the coming months.

But let's all keep ignoring Trueway please.

I suspect there was probably pressure put on the government before the producers would agree to sell to them.

I'm not in a high risk group so I will leave people like you to be the guinea pigs Bruce.

I also think the phase 2 publication has really helped our SP this Monday.

I think people now have more confidence in SNG001 and the role it can play alongside a vaccine. If the Lancet publication hadn't been released we could have been much lower today.

Both vaccines have now set expectations very high. Once further analysis of data is done - reporting anything less than a 90% success rate,or any problems with how long immunity lasts, will adversely affect public confidence and also see our SP rise again.

Nothing has changed for us though really. We are developing a treatment and we have to work to get that treatment available as soon as possible. Vaccine or no vaccine there is a great need for it.

The day to day news articles are all very good but we are little more than a whisper compared to the news coverage being he seated by vaccines.

Our SP will only really surge when orders start to be received, if/when more results are published and upon completion of phase 3.

Until then, unfortunately we have potential, but people are looking at other stocks just now rather than a small pharma with a potential treatment
