Hindsight is a great thing Scorpio and I am sure there are plenty here with similar stories of times they wish they had held a bit back.

A few months back though, there were rumours on this board of various things going on behind the scenes and EUA by the EMA. Had things worked out differently the share could have taken off at that point and you would have regretted not being all in of you hadn't gone for it.

The fact we're now disagreeing on whether the lead advisor/key player in the American response to covid-19 should have referred to Synairgen by name or in greater detail, after outlining how our drug fits into his vision, says a lot in itself!

Looks like the US very much see this as a home based treatment.

I have full faith in the BOD but they must be frantically trying to collate the data from the home trials now - if they haven't seen some already.

If that's as positive as many of us believe, based on certain comments not so long ago, then the rocket is really going to take off.

I disagree - the interviewer asked an open question, Fauci got into a certain level of detail and left it there. The interviewer could have pushed for more but chose not to.

If it wasn't sad it would be funny, Dr Fauci outlines his vision, even tells the reporter they have some early candidates to achieve that. Cut back to the interviewer, who could say anything at this point - what are these treatments, when will they be ready etc - but instead straight to questions about spaced out vaccines.

Synairgen is just going to come from nowhere one day and the same media who have failed to ask questions and demand answers will be asking why it hasn't been mentioned before.

Why would this be such a surprise? Surely they expected vaccines to slow transmission?!

You do make me laugh sometimes. If you have such contempt for the majority of posters on this board you have to question why you voluntarily choose to spend so much time here?

The action of the government depends on how you view the problem.

There was a thread on here yesterday praising the actions of a certain MH. He acted early and secured vaccines. They will save lives, so he does deserve some credit, but do have limitations.

The issue is how the problem was defined at the start of the pandemic. The government seem to have framed this as 'how do we cure covid-19?' The answer to that would be to invent a vaccine, give it to everyone and the problem disappears.

This led them down a blinkered path though, solely focussed on vaccines.

Had they asked 'how to we stop people getting sick and dying?' then perhaps they would have been a bit more open to all options on the table.

For not doing that - yes, they are inept!!

There are plenty more knowledgeable than me on the science so I won't embarrass myself by pretending to understand how it works. All I need to satisfy myself of is that the people who do understand it, know it works and they know why it works.

Sir Stephen knows it, Dr Fauci knows it and soon a lot more people will know it.

Until then let others post links to articles from questionable sources. Let them talk about the rate of vaccine roll out, that there are cheaper treatments and all the other reasons why Synairgen won't work. But don't let them away you.

It could be but then you would have thought they would have been a bit bolder months back in that case. There has been a noticeable change recently.

We've only seen the published results from the phase 2 trial but SH and RM must have seen other evidence. Whether that is home trial results, trials on friends and family, whatever, but they clearly know it works.

Look at the change in tone from Synairgen. There has been increased PR recently, publicly coming out and saying 'we know it works', which is very unusual in the scientific community, the stepping up of production and now calling out the UK government strategy on treatments in the national media.

Particularly that last one - you don't do that unless you are extremely confident in your own product. You can't question the strategy and then 3 months later have egg on your face when the leading treatment (based on P2 results) doesn't work. That would be career suicide and leaving a lasting mark against your name and, maybe even more importantly, the names of your colleagues and employees.

Either you never want to get involved in a poker game with Synairgen or, in my opinion, they really do know. Sit tight - we won't have long to wait.
