It looks like a new variant has emerged in the Philippines and been detected in Japan.

Won't be the last variant we see but hopefully it's not going to completely evade the vaccines as sounds like it's quite significantly different.

The in-fighting always increases when we have these quiet periods.

Hopefully some news and results soon to give us all something to discuss.

@Org, glad it's not just me who has the Tuesday morning blues.

Not feeling confident about hearing any news this week and the slide of the SP has put some doubts in my mind again. Need to switch back on, remain positive and wait for the next news to drop.

The glass of bleach I am drinking everyday seems to be doing the trick so far!

Just to clarify - I'm not trying to persuade anyone to get the vaccine, everyone can make their own choice on that.

I was just highlighting that I don't think it's correct to say it's not been tested.

Because I have enough confidence in the research which has been done to be reassured the vaccines dont have long term side effects - the same as all other vaccines we take without second thought.

And while I take your point about a 99% survival rate - I don't want to be the 1 in 100 who becomes seriously ill or does, so anything which reduces the chance of that happening is a positive thing.

If I catch Covid-19 before (or after) being vaccinated you better believe I will be taking vitamin D, paracetamol or anything else I can do to even give myself the smallest chance of preventing the virus worsening.

@Woody - the vaccines have been tested on tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of people. Since being approved they have now been given to hundreds of millions of people. How much testing would you want undertaken?

You can argue over efficacy data, and the long term benefits can't be known until more time has passed, but to say the vaccines haven't been tested enough is incorrect.

Similarly, a lot of people post when people get seriously ill or die, as if that is reason to stop the vaccines. There are going to be cases like this with every medication - even those taking SNG001 will eventually result in a death. It doesn't mean treatments don't work or should be suspended immediately.

As Ghia says, all quiet on the SNG front. Our trials are in progress so a case of waiting for results.

That creates a vacuum which has to be filled with something whether it's arguing over results,competitors, governments or other shares. Still plenty of good stuff here though Dave.

I don't think we have clear evidence about what has or has not been done outside of the UK, so it's open to speculation and interpretation from the snippets of information we can find.

Today marks 25 days since the first patient was dosed in the phase 2 Activ-2 trial. We know there is an analysis after day 28 which could see us roll straight into phase 3.

The next big piece of news will be from Activ-2, so as frustrated as some people may be with Sprinter and the pace of the phase 3 trial taking place just now, the US is where our main focus needs to be.

Let's not forget if we progress into phase 3 as part of Activ-2 the EUA can be granted at any time. We'll have data from our phase 2 trial, from participants in Activ-2 and very shortly from the home trial. That data (if as positive as we hope) could well provide a compelling case for approval.

Forget the phase 3 Sprinter for the time being.

I have been much less active on this board recently and not checking the SP anywhere near as frequently. We know what we're waiting on now and we know the rough timescales. If any unexpected good news lands prior to then that's a bonus.

No doubt they can make things happen quicker if they want to.

The sooner the better for an update but we don't want people getting hopes/expectations up and the board being filled with people complaining for the next 2 or 3 weeks if no news lands.

Wednesday will be 28 days since the first patient was dosed on Activ so any news will likely be at least 7-10 days after that I would think.

Even then I'm not convinced it will be the news we've been waiting for. Most likely to say we're going into a P3 - the news I want is EUA.

If we haven't had an update on the Activ trial by April then I wouldn't view that positively and be looking to invest more.

That being said, the absence of evidence is not evidence in itself so just my opinion.

It's up to each individual to evaluate the post/opinion/evidence in front of them and then decide what weight to put on that.
