The laws regarding Auditors avoiding conflict of interest are stopping them getting PSUS!!! Absurd suggestion that you think that could happen.

And nobody is setting their 'own' remuneration. The Auditor's remuneration is decided by an Audit Committee made up of Director's as explained in the link I gave you and as per the AGM resolution that you completely misquoted.

Here you go, corporate governance where the non-exec Directors hold key roles in deciding these things, as it should be. Absolutely standard for almost every listed company.

"their" meaning the Auditors remuneration, not the Directors themselves, and that's absolutely standard wording in almost every listed company AGM resolutions every year (may sometimes say the Audit Committee set the remuneration in larger companies).

Begs the question though - who did you think sets the Director's remuneration regardless? Essential, by voting to approve the annual accounts each year, shareholders authorise the Director's pay included in them for the previous year. There's probably more to it but I cba checking further.

there’s a bit of a barney going on the other forum today, uncertainty over when the lat ends as there was on here before, so for anyone here that is trying to follow that one as well i stand by my post here on 3rd june. details are in the prospectus which can be downloaded from the company website. pages 5 and 38 state:

“following admission, dr gordon sanghera, dr james will****s and mr clive brown will hold the limited anti-takeover shares, which, potentially for three years from admission …”

and also on page 38 “active lat share for the reasons set out above … (for three years from the date of admission, but, for the avoidance of doubt, only following a change of control of the company)”

we know from the rns at the time that admission was 5th october 2021.

the prospectus also, unhelpfully, states that the protection runs from when the shares are ‘issued’ but it doesn’t define what date that was or if it was different to ‘admission’. from page 207:

“the rights attributable to a lat share will cease (and that lat share will be capable of being repurchased or cancelled by the company) on the earlier of: (a) the date falling three years after the date of the issue of that lat share;…”

however, looking at the filing history on companies house (page 4, 25 oct 2021) it appears to confirm that the lat shares were ‘allotted’ (effectively issued) in october 2021. warning - the following link will automatically download/open a pdf on your device:

this file notifies various shares allotted between the dates 5-8th october 2021 and it includes each of the three lta shares as being allotted at that time and they are also included in the statement of capital there for the first time. so i think we can take ‘admission’ and ‘issue’ as being the same date, 5th october 2021.

again, all just my interpretation of the official documents from the company, but i have given you all the source references you need so you can dyor as well. if anyone thinks i am wrong then please post up your reasoning, with evidence, and i’m happy to be corrected if i have missed something.

Qantas' post was lifted straight from a Sharecast news report published at 11.30am (why no link/source, Qantas?). They missed the very important word 'risers' after 'FTSE100' but the table at the bottom of that report showed that was what they meant. It was, apparently, the top riser by their calculations at the time the report was prepared but even that calculation looks improbable.

This one of the problems with third party agencies that use AU/data scrapping to prepare reports that perhaps don't then get checked or edited!

FTSE index rebalancing does not take place until this weekend so there will still likely be more transfers/trades to come, but mostly seems to be progressing within the recent sideways pattern without too much fuss.

There are no publicly 'disclosed' short positions, but there could still be any number open that are not reported. And given the SP trajectory I would fully expect there to be some.

That’s sub 4.4 and still in a downtrend which, if it continues, is going to 4.2 in the short-term or even 3.9 if that’s a proper H&S pattern emerging!

So Jesus sold his entire holding of 65,000 shares on 21 May for £316k, then bought 92,500 yesterday for £370k. That's a 42% increase in his holding for a 17% increase in cash. Sold at the top and bought back at the bottom of the recent run which has been tracking copper. Nicely done!

Now, is that a bounce in the SP I see or is this retrace going to continue down to 380/350p? It was a decent trade regardless and he is up for re-election at the AGM so buying back in a good thing. Putting new money in as well shows confidence, but is Jesus a savant or did he jump back in too early? Time, as always, the arbiter...

That chat board is still open, per the link I gave below, it's just gone quiet now because of the situation. LSE will generally still keep boards open for a long time after delisting.

If you re-post there anyway then someone like rivaldo or ironknut, who are quite active across these boards generally, may come back at some point. Maybe wait until mid-morning on Monday because if they still have the company included in their watchlists then it will show up with a red dot for them to see there is a new post there. If you do it at the weekend they are more likely to miss it.

You are right with that point (but borrowed rather than loaned), but they don't then just offload them on the market after borrowing them. No point using all your ammunition quickly, they will be drip fed in at opportune price points. Remember that shorts selling shares still need someone else to buy them at prices they find attractive, takes that money out of the market, then drip in down to the next level. There are other ways of working it but large offloads are not normal.

From the 3rd June RNS:

"The Divestment completed on schedule on 31 May 2024 and, following receipt of the cash proceeds of the Divestment, the Group confirms that a special dividend of £1.55 per Marlowe ordinary share will be paid on 5 July 2024, with a record date of 14 June 2024 and an ex-dividend date of 13 June 2024.

The Group's previously announced share buyback programme to return up to £75 million to Marlowe shareholders ("Buyback Programme") will commence on payment of the special dividend. The terms of the Buyback Programme were announced by the Company on 22 May 2024."

So I make it that the buyback will start on or just after 5th July "on payment", rather than from XD date. [Waiting now to be proven wrong when they announce the first purchases tomorrow :/].

From the 22 May RNS:

"any market purchase of Ordinary Shares pursuant to the Programme will be announced no later than 7.30am on the business day following the day on which the purchase occurred."

So expect to see an almost daily run of RNS with the details once the programme has started.

Again done at a price below the spread at that time, market is well familiar with this transfer practice hence why no net reaction. In line with the others mentioned and certainly likely due to FTSE rebalancing.

Many of the funds that need to change their holdings are run within the same management 'stables' or where agreements are in place between institutions. That allows them to easily transfer stock OTC and then report it after, which helps keep a lid on volatility.

It’s not Ahl offloading, that’s not how shorts work and their 0.01% increase yesterday is only 83k shares.

Drop today was market wide, not specific to AHT. Main contributor seems to be the US macro events (inflation, Fed rate comments) yesterday - bulk of AHT business is US so perhaps disproportionate effect compared to other UK listed companies.

After hours trades are included in the totals in the table, but no trades that this site marks as 'unknown' are ever included there. £18m of that total is the UT so it's not a 'sell', no matter what this site tries to guess, it's buyers and sellers matched together during the closing auction. This site only marked it as a 'sell' because the closing price in the auction was below the spread.

So you can see from the above that the totals in that table should be ignored as they are complete fiction.
