Same thoughts as you Jeff, I couldn't read that article but found this one, I'm not a fan of telegraph but seems ok. Mild and unusual, I hope those are the words that are prominent today, but I do t trust newspapers to about this from the rooftops as it's not fear based.

US was up o.8% after hours from UK close, oil dropped a lot from us open to close but SP didn't drop a lot more, which I was not expecting. Could be a harder correction after people have seen how low oil has gone. However hoping to see oil price shoot up before open as the % drop was not justified, I can't call this one, was a odd day and I think Monday will be the same. Might be quiet until opec, which is Wednesday??

Hard one to tell about US, normally i would say they will bring it down. However oil is just shy of where it was at its lowest this week and i believe the lowest that hit was 334p, not sure on this one. Cant believe that just austria imposing 3 weeks will make people flee, but who knows. All i can say is that Bidens release seems to be well and truly priced in, or at least i bloody hope so. Oil has been turbulent in the 80s for a while now, fingers crossed it doesnt pull much futher away and stays in a range.

I could read it through google, if it was the same one, but not here. Yrab, it basically said the financial concerns outweigh governance and they haven't disclosed enough... thats a basic overview with my low level knowledge

Current climate might be changing on rates, but at the moment that's 1 bil that won't be paying div at around 5%. It's cheaper to do that than pay debt? Saying that I would like to see debt reduced more, it doesn't make a lot of sense at mo, but I have a bad ( no justification) feeling about debt in future aha

My mistake, in a article i read it stated it will happen at some point next year, but nothing official. Just questions, not making negatives out of positives, just possibilities and seeking views. Some questions of which I had before the drop. So share holders would be granted shares in the new section automatically? I need to do my homework as new to this, but been in THG for most of it, sold just before the plunge as I didn't like how MM was handling things. Trying to understand it better before / if I jump in again.

THG's future is one i just cant see, as in i dont know what to expect. Matt isnt getting rid of golden share till next year, when? Who knows. Could the divisions be split by then, so he goes off with those while ditching golden share here? What does it mean for THG with the splits, financial statistics are still being kept under wraps for the divisions and there are a lot of questions till out there, like you mention about SB buying or not.

Ottorun, why would you automatically get shares in the split divisions when they go there own entity? Do you mean get the chance to buy them first? Or actually just get them? Is this what usual happens ( I have not research this) or is it something that was said. I get the impression Matt wouldnt want to give anything away and couldnt care less about current share holders, so if he doesnt have to, then i do not see this happening. THG will control majority stake, but expect most of it to go for $?

Smithy, was reading an article the other day where it was basically saying ( if I remember) that dead trees / etc basically let off them same amount of co2 as fossil fuels. Difference being that it's needed for the eco system, but it's interesting when you look at all angles.

My hope is the.die hard greens get on board with oil companies are part of the solution > going green and not simply wanting to destroy them utterly
