I think saying you will add more to transition and say you will cut to 50% by 2030 instead of 35% is a good move. The green people have been saying the earth will be destroyed and the politicians got in on it heavily last year. A windfall tax now = BP saying your now taking away our transition and will be adding to global warming

General market in the sectors aren't doing well as others have said, America opening seems to have opened the wound a bit Futher. Boohoo now a penny stock, market is mad atm. Wishing everyone the best here

Tinker, I wonder if looking at market as whole is generally effecting sentiment to the cautious side? Seems some blood in water today esp America, maybe people sitting on their hands?

Surely if profits etc are massive then there will already be a massive increase in tax, surely that should all be turned towards the issue. This is just the beginning, a windfall tax now will set a bad omen and investments in the uk will be lost, the money will be spent and not on a solution. The plans for what the money will be spent on are poor and won't help poor people in single brick buildings that can't be insulated at all, or for long. Something else needs to be done rather than a cash grab that will only hinder money towards renewables. Billions lost in fraud, 40% of tax to benefits, gas warehouses ( don't know name) decommissioned, tech mega corps allowed to just roll on not paying proper taxes, money wasted left right and centre by the current government and then this ? I want to help people, but a full windfall tax just seems a bad idea if it's enacted as some of the plans I read a while ago. Though this doesn't mean BP can't give in another meaningful way hopefully that works for both.

Russia invaded in 2014, I'm assuming BP still held a large stake, during the actual conflict the SP went up. Later in 2014 it went down, any one with knowledge know if that was because of sanctions or just OP etc etc. I don't understand this enough, but trying to see what happened before ( I'm aware this isn't a history forum lol, but some of you guys may have been around! ) Seems as if FTSE is getting knocked around a bit today

Yup fully agree, I actually went to similar product so not much in it regarding quality ( unless grass fed cow's milk Vs not, makes it better and no idea what cow's would eat otherwise lol)

Hey Mando, regarding your protein comment, I know my opinion basically means nothing in grand scheme lol, but I've been using my protein for about 5 years. This last year the prices went up, I think quite a bit, thats if you get a x% off which you should always get, the prices I would say are still good. However for me the prices have closed with other brands and now the difference is small enough that I have actually branched out and tried new things for only a small difference. The end result is that I actually have switch 80% of my products to other brands, could just be there new factor lol. Not to say My protein aren't great, coz I think they are, but more that for me the price increases pushed me into actually looking at other products , which as I'm lazy would not have done. GL to everyone here

Jam, there are definitely alot of people that need help, but what is sad is a lot of people abuse the system these days. A lot of people who can help themselves don't, while a lot of people who really need help get doors closed in their face, the system is In a sad state. I believe someone else mentioned it, but I find it funny that they mention WT after letting tech companies get away with decades of under paying tax and failing to pay for sales in UK etc

Thing is it doesn't solve anything, labours plan to where the money goes is like putting a plaster on a wound with necrosis. Most people that rent or low income live in old houses that are neraly impossible to insulate properly without having a massive job. UK needs to expand renewables at a faster rate to fight rising prices, but will that help with gas? Personally I don't know, I also don't know what the end result would be. What if the the WT was basically along the lines that that % had to be invested in UK energy ( renewables or w/e) that then UK got first rights to? . Would that be a good thing?

The only reason why UK is getting ****** is because of the Tory government's bad planning and letting gas reserve locations get closed ( I believe that happened).

You too Mark and must say I'm liking the more zen attitude ! If I hadn't ballsed up my plan I would have re invested a good chunk this morning. Was still a bit tempted but trying to distance myself and chill ( as life stresses are high lol) a bit so going to not think about adding money to anything till next year .

Would bidens possible failure ( due to the guy that said he won't vote for it) have potentially caused an impact on oil prices? I get the feeling that the plan for 2 tr ( think it was that) would have needed a lot of oil to get it going? Interested on what people think

Whoever said about BP price, I am hoping for nothing lower than 30/31, there was a bit of a drop in US by 1.2% and oil dropped, but hoping it will pick up a bit.

Ive been on and off I'll for a few weeks ( not COVID obvs) and was intending to remove a chunk at 350, but missed it, so wish I had more in cash but I think this is short term here and good resistances seem to have been around 320 so I'm not too worried. Just missed a small profit if things go middle ground
