The "failure" of COLAL -PRED24 Jul 2008 22:45
It is highly unlikely that Norgine were unaware of todays results when the licence was granted as reported 27 June 2008.The probability is that Norgine want COLAL - PRED as an additional late stage product to complement and strengthen their portfolio. Major Pharma's don't hand over EUR 2.0 mill unless they are confident in the product. Colal has not failed it is just another product in the armoury of drugs to fight UC. We will have to see if the plug is pulled on the US trials that are being funded by Prometheus Labs under a licence granted last year. Read the RNS for June 2008 for details of the licence with Norgine..Alizyme has been vastly oversold because sentiment in the company is very very poor and the market is giving no truck.
The company is funded until 2010, has Institutional backing, is not owned and funded by founder directors, has 2 more products including the biggy Ceti and is not in receivership. Probable bounce tomorrow then who knows!
