RR is trending upwards even after a 100% sp increase recently because it has started from an exceptionally low base.

Megan1, there already is a Windfall tax. Bp currently pay 75% of all UK profits, how much higher could Labour go ?!! If you mean a Windfall tax on World income, well, I think the Majors would move out of UK as SHEL and TOTAL have already intimated.

If you compare the total remuneration of a CEO of BP or similarly sized business with those of premiership footballers who have far less responsibility and pressure, well...£12m doesn't seem too much !!

From my first purchase before the rights issue it's been one hell of a roller coaster when the sp halved and then advanced again. Even recently dipped below my avg cost, but confident now its on a growing trend ..Confident also with BP, but maybe a slower sp growth from now on as much depends on Russia/Ukraine, China, OPEC, Central Bank decisions, EPLs, recessions or not, etc... oul and gas auch a minefield !!

beatrootjuice, HMG has lost any integrity it used to have when it latterly overdid an EPL (Windfall tax). The most important for any govt is to be fair, if you extra tax in high profit times you also need to assist in low profit/times of loss....otherwise no different to the very nations that UK currently opposes and crticises.

Really cannot understand why this share continues to fall. They've just raised a material amount for a profitable accretive purpose at 105p without difficulty. As an income share, there's no negative. Why are people selling or are the MM's playing games ?

Agree CCC. When trust is lost, as with any relationship, very hard to get it back. RM needs to be removed, we should all email / otherwise contact the company demanding this.
