RE: Sellers are in for a shocker24 Jan 2026 18:49
That's a good last post Sageman. I only felt able to recommend GGP to a select few back in the day, whereas more recently I felt able to (with confidence) invest a lot of my wife's ISA into this share. She hadn't needed to ride out the lows in the same way as me pro-rata, so in percentage gain terms she's won, even if I may have in overall gain via the amount poured in. Either way we dine from the same pot thankfully. There are other family members too very happy with my advice, delivered with prudence, but it's all come good.
Regarding the input here, I value many posters. TT, Element, Panama, Bamps, Speedy plus quite a few others who may offer an alternate view but who are still equally invested. A handful I ignore completely. Now this won't go down well because believe me I do find the bulk of your posts immensely informative Element... but... I do think they are now quite prolific (and notibly so since Bamps posted less - am I wrong in that take? I don't know). I sometimes feel as if the mantra is being overdone even if I know this share has a long way to go. The crisis of people selling I find particularly problematic as ultimately everyone has their reasons to sell (it's not just down to thinking this has peaked). Yes there's talk of cars and whatever else and I dare say most of us who have been here a while could do something similar. But maybe some have a person with ill health to help out, or they regard their own health unlikely to be where it might be a few years down the line and take out knowing they've made a lot of profit even if they could make more two years hence. I like the input on the resource and the dynamics of GEO-politics, etc, but sometimes it feels a bit "preachy" when we/I are effectively told we must know what we own and effectively are (effectively) stupid to sell. I've actually bought back more recently based on the RNS but i still feel that whilst knowledge is power, the decisions we individually make about buying or selling are generally well considered regardless as to whether we miss out on further profit. I'm nevertheless happy that many of those obviously committed to disruption are broadly absent, and even some with at times contrary views, yet still invested, are able to pop up without denigrating the excellent work SD has achieved.
