Aim999 and various permutations thereof. It's uniquely the place of disrupters to continually bring Bamps name up when he very rarely mentions the SP (unless it is to say he would not sell for x price or whatever). He never urges people to buy and I've ever seen him speculate on SP or ramp the share in a traditional sense. In fact when all the froth is going on about SP he is normally pretty silent. What he does is ring a level of knowledge and expertise about the asset at Havieron and of geology and of other tenements and their potential prospectivity. What you and others do (Freddie does this often) is mention his name in a completely erroneous context, especially if he's not posted much. In fact your own posts might therefore be construed as "targeted harassment" because you aren't in a conversation with him, you are just baiting or b*tching. I can't quite work out if it's because you have lost so much on AIM or whether you are simply a nasty piece of work. Both of those of course may apply, they are not mutually exclusive.
That's a very useful transcript Dip. Thank you
Timeline by Zoros seems about right to me and Everyonesawinner summarises the situation unless anything completely untoward happens. Bamps timely appearance also reminds us we are a working explorer with huge potential. "Well endowed" I believe was the phrase used in the rns!
At the moment I've not just been finding extra cash down the back of the sofa but it appears some crazy folk have taken their old ones to the dump without checking and I've found spare change in theirs too
There's been so much froth over so little news the past few days. As far as I'm aware there have only been a couple of things worth seriously noting - the SD interview and a link to a post regarding the status of the shutdown at Telfer. The rest has been high conjecture (though nothing wrong with that provided feet are also kept on the ground).
I do keep hearing people say SD should be addressing the SP, but I've heard no sensible suggestions as to how - unless he is going to seriously undermine his sensitive negotiations. There also seems to be expectation around the quarterlies due on Thursday - but what exactly do we expect to hear? I am personally resigned to waiting this out until the 6 months that Newmont had originally inferred for this aspect of their divestment to be worked through. Nevertheless, if there is no serious interest from other parties due to our right of last refusal then perhaps (hopefully?) the deal will be done sooner. I can only take SD at his word that amyone invested can be optimistic. Note the present tense - those invested right now! We all have different attitudes to risk. Personally whilst I regard the upside as massive in owning the lot it does make me nervous regarding the deal and the liabilities of Telfer, though I'm reminded too of the vast experience of those supporting Shaun. My own time frame would have preferred we mined as a partner but this lca could be a blessing in disguise even if I had hoped for a slightly faster route to profit for my own circumstances. I said I'm nervous, but I'm still entirely optimistic and still buying as and when I can without going crazy. My average will hopefully drop to 7p soon so an upside for me won't take much though I know others are in deeper water. Ignore those who never back up their pathetic snipes.
"Our sharehoders should feel really confident about the opportunities ahead" is the line from the interview to stand out for me. SD is well aware many people are carrying a loss or have at least had paper profit eroded at the current SP, to say we should "feel really confident" is not a subtle message, it is as clear a signal as he can give within the confines of ongoing negotiation.
Absolutely agree with you Tig. I've held and continued to increase as and when. I do believe Lassonde will apply, but for it to do so fully we must get the right deal on Telfer. If there is another tailing dam issue (as rumoured but yet to be confirmed - so treat with caution) then it is a salient reminder to the negotiation team to use leverage on the need to veer towards belt and braces view on any liabilities. I believe the upswing in SP towards production from Hav will more than mitigate against any temporary blips further along the road. Along with the tighter margins we may be able to utilise in the Telfer mine, the pathway to new income streams for the processing side of things will hopefully develop as tenements in close proximity come on stream making GGP the dominant player in the region.
If I say I probably won't post for a week, then certainly don't expect me to post for the next two days on the trot. If I did it would be word soup
And what do you want people to say about dewatwring and decline restart? The few responses have been pure speculation or interpretation of satellite images. If we don't have updates then what is there to say. But you will have read my own speculation that it would be no surprise if the decline gets resumed pretty much as soon as a deal is announced. But that's not a factual answer because no one can give one right now
Culpepper, I had no reason to disbelieve your position as you told us back at the time when you sold. Many months back I even agreed at times there needed to be more independent thinking on here. Factual, open discussions about the way forward if you will. I didn't put you in the camp of those who so obviously troll, even if some of your posts have become repetitive. You say you remain as an interested party but it really does seem odd how you post so much still. I am invested in many other shares but rarely post even on those boards let alone ones I'm not invested in! I think what has tipped it for me is your post of 11.20pm last night. It comes across as antagonistic and arrogant, quite out of the blue. I don't believe that even the most optimistic of real shareholders of GGP have not been disappointed by some of the dips, even if we've used it to average down or buy more, but whilst in general you don't use disrespectful language you are putting a new and unwelcome spin on trolling
It's quite simple in my view. Tygra et al (and isn't it interesting just how many of those et al's are popping up these days) should simply wait until this project is fully derisked (both with the decline and with the eventual deal). This constant warning that we have put our money into something with no future, or because we are held hostage to a bigger player, or because there are sharks circling, or, or, or, blah, blah, blah... We don't need your condescending warnings as if we aren't aware of the risk. Our risk is indeed reflected in the current SP. Join the ride when pretty much all that risk is gone. What will the SP be then? 25p, 30p?
I'll keep my high risk money in at 6p thanks. My loss if it goes as the doom-mongers forecast. My risk alone
I've worked it out. 'mint imperial' is an anagram of 'permian limit'. It's a sign. The ore body is the next stop
A fellow Hammer Redirons. I really can't impart expertise on here and I certainly won't be prolific, but I like to think I have a reasonably level head and can digest the knowledge that others with expertise (and who can be fact checked) are able to impart amongst the froth on here at times. Thank you
Well on a positive note my wife's first ever investment in GGP has gained something like 9% since her buy in yesterday
Talking about the processing side of things at Telfer Tinners, we'll have a very ready reminder of the productivity of the area as we ready the Havieron to Telfer road turning to drop south through Antipa's Parklands tenement. Who knows, the road may even need a slight diversion. There are various scenarios to play out whether we end up in new JV's, own the lot, or simply take the tolling while we provide the service side of things via all the infrastructure at Telfer. People quite simply have a choice. You make a safer bet when the decisions have been made and maybe 3-bag or so, or you do the research and get in now and potentially 10-bag plus. To you that would be the difference between making a couple of hundred k or a million pounds. I'm not going to criticise anyone who takes a lower risk/reward path, but that's exactly what it is. Low reward.
I still have a niggle about Telfer mine, but that is part of the risk I am taking on and yes, to a certain extent that aspect I am placing in the hands of experienced heads who I trust to strike the right deal. It is clear that some are adverse to that level of risk, but it's why I and many others in here have poured over the research (some provided by very capable posters in this site). For people to suggest that many of us who have invested many tens or hundreds of thousands in this venture are doing so without adequately understanding what we are getting into is naive in the extreme. As for the rest, there has been criticism that two sides of the argument are not being heard. The fact that Plode, IOT et al are placed in this category is ludicrous. They are clearly disrupters/derampers and have no coherent argument. The evidence is in their disappearance when we move anywhere above 8p.
I regard it as entirely positive that those of us who have taken the opportunity to average down (and for my wife to have bought some of her own GGP shares for the very first time today) at these low prices, can be content that Tinners, Culpepper and perhaps a few others are likely to buy in 100k or so at higher prices to add some momentum to the up curve
Indeed TT. If anyone cares to look at a chart off GGP's SP over 6 months, Plodes posting history is the exact inverse. He disappeared for most of October through December. It's so transparent. Pretty much a sub 8p poster. Disappears any time the SP is on a different trajectory
We have to be realistic about news. We are only 6 weeks on from the announcement that Newmont were divesting, starting with their North American projects. We were looking at roughly 6 months potentially for our deal to be done and dusted, although for many reasons previously discussed, I think it could be sooner as that would benefit both parties. I have always felt that news on the dewatering might not overly benefit the sensitivities of brokering the deal. It is painful at the moment, but would it not be better to get the deal over the line (especially if we get 100% ownership), and then say "by the way the decline resumes next week"? Then we move on to FS/DTM/ASX and every other driver that is going to put a rocket under this. As poor as the SP is currently, ambiguous news is often worse than no news. I am realistic enough to appreciate however that word gets out as major decisions approach and like it or not PI's are normally the last to be switched on to sudden price movement. We choose our own path. I will be selling some other stock to buy a bit more today. It is a high risk game but my money and my choice. All I expect is for SD to honour his commitment to PI's long term. All that has happened for me is that my timescales have got longer. It's a bit if a ball ache to be fair, but that is all down to the recent history of the JV with Newcrest and then Newmont. GLA
Doing* the maths
I'm going the maths on whether to buy more now or to hold fire until the ISA rewewal date. My wife and I have £20k each earmarked. On another note I wonder when we'll get to know the rules on the additional £5k ISA allowance for investment in 'British' companies. I assuming GGP might qualify even though it operates mainly in Australia? It will all depend on how loose the terms are I guess.
Our time will come. For months we were yo-yoing with Solgold on near identical SP with daily movements reversing who was in front. On rumour they have forged ahead 50% or so and it will be no different here. There will be a rumble on imminent news I think and that will hopefully create a new base before the serious uptick. Yes the current SP is not what we want but I expect there will be many like me who have a bit to drop in when the new ISA allowance starts
