I thought the KPIs yesterday were reasonably good. I guess some people were expecting 750,000, but that was too soon for me. My own estimate for auto was 605,000, so we weren't too far away from that.
I didn't see that VW logo, oops! On further investigation, I think that is the interior of the forthcoming 2026 VW ID.Polo at 6.12 - in which we have already spotted the magna mirror with SM DMS.
This Skoda car is being built on the same MEB+ platform as the 2026 VW ID.Polo and Cupra Raval, in Navarra, Spain.
Looks like SM have an almost complete sweep for VW in Europe, the exception so far being Porsche where that carbuncle thing is on the top of the steering wheel.
2026 Skoda Epiq is everywhere today, but couldn't get a shot of the mirror area until I saw this at 6:12
I though he said he liked this stock? I'm not a fan of these pundits tbh. They have lots of followers and can massively influence low liquidity stocks such as this one.
I know volumes have picked up here a little lately, but even IQE - with a market cap of 100 million or so - had a day a number of weeks ago where it had trade volumes in the thousands. I've never seen those kind of volumes here, irrespective of market cap.
Another Audi with SM/Magna DMS - this time the A3 sportback (rather than the already known Q3). You can see the A3 label at 21.12, DMS present at 21.40.
The 25th best selling car in Europe in 2024, > 114,00 sales it would seem and Audis top seller. In fact, the only Audi I can see in the top 50.
DMS does seem to be going in quite a lot of models as of now. Just spotted the first Fiat I have seen with DMS, the 2026 Fiat QUBO. Located in that A pillar location again, similar to the other recent Stellantis models I have seen. Same location for new Renault/Dacia models of course. Can only be good news whichever DMS supplier you're invested in.
The OMS will play a role in detecting the presence of a child here I am sure, alongside other technology. Quite how all of this is done I'm not sure, but ncap requirements are outlined in this document from late 2025.
Seems that some of these Cupra models are sold for export outside of Europe, including DMS. Mexico in this instance.
I also thought this vid interesting, simply because I think it's the first time i've seen any channel provide commentary on the DMS in the mirror (19:16) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KgMIM0AurBI
