Its interesting that US based The Capital Group Companies, Inc. have increased their stake just a few days before Ocado results are due - could be very significant - especially when you take into account that Capital Group also own over 10% of Kroger.

One important consideration regarding the application of Weichai's SOFC system is that it can run on natural gas and is more efficient than comparable tech running on natural gas, it also produces substantially less emissions.

So the take up in China won't rely on the Chinese switching to hydrogen or bio gasses and could therefore be greatly accelerated.

This is the second year when income will be generated globally but in the first year the CFC's had only been open for a short while, so it difficult to use the numbers to reach any conclusions.

I guess ENQ will bounce back with Brent but they were much stronger before the windfall tax - compare the SP's of ENQ and BP over the last few years.

The US operation is well embedded now, Kroger now have 4 of 16 CFC's open and seem very satisfied with the results - the partnership started in 2018.
There are also CFC's open in Canada, Australia, Japan and Sweden - about 18 in total, including the UK - about 60 are committed including Korea with many to come on Mainland Europe.
It will be interesting to see the income generated globally - Ocado take a commission on sales from their global partners.

If its upside an early buy on results day could be a very good option.
They like surprising the market and sometimes the shorts loose out big time.

I guess the £10.5 million could simply be going to ramp up production from the current 15% capacity in double quick time to take advantage of strong demand for existing usage and to satisfy demand for new product uses - nappies for example.

The news over the next year will hopefully be dominated by all the 1001 other uses Itaconix have for their formulations.

When you look at the Weichei announcement on their own website, they give all the credit to themselves, neither Bosch or Ceres even get a mention.
I think doing business with the West is only palatable to the Chinese if Western companies stay in the background.

I don't think that there is any chance of changing the EPL - that would simply be seen as a big U turn by the Government and Labour would crucify them - the damage is done.

However, there is certainly wiggle room to change the detail.

If I was AB, I would be pushing for an exception because ENQ has cut emissions from its production and is actually ahead of what is expected.
The target to cut emissions is high in the North Sea, probably much higher than elsewhere, so there is a good argument that reducing carbon emissions would justify a tax reduction in much the same way as it does with renewables.

As a long term holder, I hold regardless, but its certainly not an easy call what we can expect on the 28th.

The principal reason is that its very difficult to know how much income Ocado will make from Solutions - the global CFC's - there are quite a few up and running now, but as we don't know what percentage commission Ocado are receiving from them, gauging profitability isn't possible.

Its actually three shorts now on a total of just over 1.5%.

I guess its because the market pulled up the SP, but now that its more lackluster they see a profit with maybe MKS drifting back with their help to around 145p.

Also, results are not due until May, so something of a lull on news to move the SP.
Although if speculation starts to grow about dividends resuming the shorts may cash out well ahead of May.

The five shorts are still open and are I guess still causing the hour to hour volatility.

Two opened at around 635p, so it will be interesting to see if they close before results day on the 28th Feb.

Remember, Weichei are a Chinese state owned company, they have a need to impress the politicians and ceremony like this is very much part of Chinese business culture.

I think this is a very significant development, one that paves the way for the joint venture to be signed from the Chinese side.

There is good reason to think that this is the low point, not just from the charts but expectations are also at a low point amongst investors.
Simply delivering on this years modest financial goals with all the value tied up in the pipeline, will I think now lift the SP substantially.
It just needs the lift to change sentiment and bring the agenda back to full throttle growth.

I have been in this position twice before - down around 80-95% - one sunk and I got around 20% out, the other is now up around 250%
It was actually the one down 95% that succeeded.
