An interesting rise today - it seems like there's no smoke without fire - especially when its Biochar.

it should also be remembered that M&S make a profit on their own brand products that are sold via Ocado Retail and that the extra volume of product sold enables them to negotiate better prices with their suppliers.
Also there is far less wastage of goods sold via Ocado Retail than there is on the High Street - a very important consideration with higher ticket items.

M&S has until 2030 to decide if it wants to buy the other 50% of Ocado Retail - up until that time both companies have to be in agreement on the sale of the other 50% to a third party.

The Ocado Retail financial results are poor but the business is attracting plenty of new customers.

Its the combination of expansion, reduced basket sizes and the poor economy that has resulted in the loss.

Looking to the future with the macro improving and customer growth continuing we should see a strong return to profit.

The SP could fall quite dramatically - remember there are 5 headline shorts in at 3.5% combined.

Much as expected - Retail still poor will drag down SP.
Good growth in Solutions income bodes well for the future.

Basically the offering is still well received, but the poor macro in 2022 took the profits and more, resulting in a loss.

A good chance that 2023 will be much better with growing income from solutions and Retail filling capacity - it only needs a modest improvement in basket volumes to make retail profitable again.

The likely outcome is that natural gas will decline in use for electricity generation by a substantial amount in the run up to 2030 but there won't be the capacity in the electrical grid to keep up with demand.
Therefore, mains gas will still remain important for 20 years or more.

Hydrogen has a place - it can be mixed with natural gas up to around 15% without having to recalibrate anything for mains gas - also its very likely that it will become the fuel of choice for heavy industry.

There are two locations up and running in LIverpool run by Orsted power that store power in batteries and release it to the grid when demanded.
If this system was expanded nationally it would enable the grid to run without the need for constant generation of power.
Hence renewables could in theory supply the grid with all the electricity it needed.

Personally, I think its fairly obvious that the £10.5m is simply to give headway to ramp up production in response to increasing demand.

In other words its pointless finding new customers and new uses for Itaconix formulations unless the company can actually supply the market with product when required.

There is plenty of capacity at Stratham, but it will take money to install new production lines and employ extra staff.

Also they have greatly increased the stock of raw Itaconix acid over the last 6-9 months - another indication that ramping up capacity is the principal objective at the moment.

One obvious way forward would be to sell a stake in Kraken to a partner and develop Bressay and Bentley with the same partner as part of the same overall project.
This would allow Enquest to reduce debt and also bring new production online at Bressay and Bentley hopefully utilising AK.
It could also mean that the company could avoid an equity raise.

That's the logic Pelle, unfortunately politicians in the UK have gone way beyond doing what is right for the economy and just listen to the loudest voices and take the easy option, especially when most of the job losses would be in Scotland - Westminster politicians don't care about Scotland.

The SNP governing party in Scotland is also compromised by its coalition with the Greens.

Although I think you are being optimistic about EPL being amended beneficially, because any change would be pounced on by the opposition as a U turn, unless the oil price falls appreciably, then EPL could be quietly forgotten.

Conversely if Brent surges in price, be under no illusion that this pliable Government will be out to inflict more pain on energy producers to try and save their own skin.

Acting as devil's advocate here -
What if AB sold a big stake in Kraken to bring down debt.
Would that not be a quicker way to shareholder returns and also reduce exposure to the EPL.

Who knows mrc, but the broad outline of the plans at SVT have been under discussion for a few years now and there are some big players involved. I think you could see something on the ground within the next five years.
It doesn't look like funding will be an issue and I guess most of the money will be public money.
