The constraining factor is that M&S mainly trades in the UK and its fortunes are tied to the UK economy.

I think this is probably the only factor holding MKS back from the FTSE100 and it could be that other companies that trade internationally recover quicker and leapfrog MKS into the FTSE100.

Being positive the rise on the NASDAQ has creditability now after the fall in US inflation.

We only need to see improvement in China to the green light for tech shares to start outperforming the market again as soon as interest rates start to fall.

I think the key factor is just to make a small initial investment in these AIM minnows, then it doesn't actually cost much to average down when the SP falls after a dilution.

Not that I got it right this time with the timing - I averaged down at 0.19p.

But with a bit of good news now it should bounce back - the optimists will smell a bargain.

Dumping Waitrose was the best thing Ocado Retail ever did.

M&S are so tied into Ocado Retail - the sales through Ocado and the increased volume have made a massive difference to profitability of their food business - that when the time is right they will I think snap up the other 50%.

Meanwhile Waitrose sink further into the mire - note on TV Ocado talk about cutting prices on thousands of products and Waitrose just hundreds.

Never write off these AIM minnows - I have been down 95% and still bounced back into profit - currently up 138% after averaging down.

There never has and never will be any consideration given to shareholders investing in these small AIM companies.

Investors have to realise that they are a very high risk investment and dilution will always be a factor.

This is something that must be considered before investing - its pointless bleating about it when things go wrong.

The companies only list here to raise equity when needed.

One very important thing to realise is that the update due next week is for the WHOLE GROUP not just a trading update for Ocado Retail - its the Half Year results.

My guess is that the finances are probably improving at Ocado Retail - especially with M&S taking a much bigger role managing the company, the marketing certainly seems much better.

The tech side of the group can only give better news as more CFC's come on line BUT any hint that more finance is needed would certainly be very bad news for the SP.

Look out for more news from Bosch later in the week, they have Bosch Tech Day 2023, taking place on July 13 in Stuttgart.

Sentiment is certainly shot but that doesn't mean that Eqtec is.

Sure the news flow is excruciatingly slow, but the financials still stack up.

No point selling and taking a loss, just continue to hold and wait for positive results.

I think the SP would have fallen much more yesterday if there was an overvalue issue.

Also todays modest recovery does show that maybe the SP is finding its own level, especially as the shorts are reducing.

Probably a good entry point for a long term hold now or maybe wait until Autumn for clarification and better macro.

Overall position is even better down from over 6% to 4.5% with a reduction of 10 to 6 active shorts.

Of these six, three are showing a profit currently and three a loss with Gladstone showing the biggest loss.

They are probably all showing a good profit after their last 12 months of trading OCDO.

I think all that we can conclude is that nothing has changed and that Weichai and Bosch are still talking regarding commercial terms.

Maybe Ceres were over optimistic regarding a quick outcome.

In reality with lawyers and regulators involved in China and Germany/EU maybe this was to be expected.

I guess its one reason why the adoption of renewables is so slow - to much talk, no action!

The technology is developed enough to be developed commercially.

It is as you say 1863 the will to make the leap and commit capital for funding, but not just from Governments but also the private sector.

We to hope that the Chinese do the right thing but the change has to be global from big industry using hydrogen instead of gas, upgraded electric power networks to rural Africans using solar.

I think its just AIM volatility - the SP moves on just a few trades and when most are sales it falls back to the bottom of its range very quickly.

The next move will probably be positive - even without news - as buyers seek a bargain.

Remember to make money share traders have to buy and sell - volatility is built into the logarithms.

Looking at the headline on the BBC website this morning - Shell warning about oil and gas production cuts because renewables cannot fill the void - we have to ask the question why???

From our perspective as Ceres investors we can see that the technology exists, yet we are still waiting for full scale adoption of that technology.

The knee jerk reaction is to say its the Governments fault - as always - but the UK is actually better placed with renewables than most countries.

Its all very frustrating!!!
