On the point of M&S not being for everyone.

I totally agree with Neil - a rebranded Ocado Retail should be aimed at the same customers as M&S attract with full focus towards those customers.

Online customers should also have full access to food and all other M&S products from the same platform - even if the deliveries are fulfilled from different warehouses/CFC's.

A one stop shop for all the middle classes and elite in store and online.

One sensible way forward for M&S and Ocado would be for an agreement for M&S to buy the other 50% and pay in instalments.

The payments would be made from the profits of Ocado Retail when the business becomes profitable again and only be made when the business is profitable.

It should be easy to complete a deal like this by 2030 - if it wasn't adjustments could be made to the amount M&S will pay Ocado for tech support on an ongoing basis, as other Ocado partners do.

In the meantime M&S would take control of the retail side of the business with Ocado controlling the tech - as is the arrangement with other Ocado partners.

The business would also be rebranded M&S within 12 months of the agreement to purchase the other 50%

Personally I have no problems with Ocado Retail and use them every week but I think they are lightweight in a market of dominant players - hence my thoughts that M&S need to take a firm grip on the business with the aim of rebranding it as M&S within 12 months.

Ocado have learn to be a retailer but they are basically a tech company - the experienced retailer, M&S, now needs to take control.

Inward investment from Weichai and Bosch was the making of Ceres - we didn't feel the effects of dilution - the pot just got bigger.

So, its good news that M&S is going to take a much larger role in running Ocado Retail.

As negotiations between Weichai and Bosch continue regarding the commercial terms, everyone seems to be assuming that it is the Chinese that are holding things up, but it could just as easily be Bosch - patience is still needed.

Meanwhile, Weichai have been showing off their 10,000 unit fuel cell powered hydrogen engine production line to a senior Chinese politician.

Trying to analyse a companies SP performance on AIM is a fruitless activity.

Its much better to just concentrate on the company and make your own judgements on long term success.

The SP will catch up with potential eventually, probably when its least expected.

It seems our expectations were too high regarding the dividend but the announcement of a dividend in November at least clarifies the issue that has been hanging in the air since the pandemic.

Its easy to predict a fall today, but with these excellent results the long term for MKS is very encouraging and the shares remain a very firm hold and a strong buy when the SP settles down.

Tech stocks in the US are doing rather well again now with the Nasdaq soaring, although this could come to a sticky end if they don't agree a federal budget deal.

UK tech stocks usually follow the Nasdaq but this hasn't been the case recently.

Comments in the Daily Telegraph this morning attributed to the head of Legal and General make sombre reading for UK investors - he blames political mistakes going back to Brown selling the gold for the state of London markets and sees little respite.

As Ocado continue their global development, it does beg the question if the UK offers the best financial base for the company. With their biggest customer in the US and a much better entrepreneurial culture in the US, maybe they should consider the move?
