One unknown is when Enquest actually sell the bunkering crude that they send to Singapore - is it sold at the time it is extracted or when it arrives in Singapore?
They started sending crude to Singapore around April time and it takes about 6 weeks to get to Singapore.
If you work that out, it means that if its paid for in Singapore that no Kraken crude was sold when Brent was at its low point.
That could make a big difference?

Ammonia is an excellent option but more work is needed to make the process affordable.
Like most aspects of renewables, its not just about the technology its about making it affordable.
Ceres is one of the few companies that has successfully addressed affordability with its steel fuel cell but off course that is only one part of the equation.

Volume has fallen back now, so it looks like SP could drift back a bit until buyers come back strongly again when they get their entry price - this process probably repeat until we get some news.

With so much emphasis on green energy it shouldn't be forgotten that fuel cells could have a major role to play in reducing emissions from existing gas fired power stations.

This is done by capturing the emissions from burning the gas to power turbines and then passing the emissions through fuel cells.

Around 20% extra energy is generated by passing the emissions through the fuel cells.

The resulting carbon that has passed through the fuel cells can then be collected and put into carbon storage underground in a liquid form.

Overall this cuts emissions at the power station by 90%.

I simply don't think that it is possible to gauge world fuel demand simply because we don't know how long the pandemic will last on a world wide basis.
Oil usage for transportation accounts for 63.8% of total world oil production - 2018 figures - that's 6.7% maritime, 7.8% air and 49.3% road.
Its impossible to predict how fast consumption will increase as the pandemic fades into history - there are far too many variables.

I may be tempting fate but its now looking like Brent is on the cusp of another step up towards $60 - its held $55 extremely well with only a few blips since 8th January and the news that oil futures are going into backwardation is very positive.
OPEC+ meet soon so lets hope that they don't mess things up.
Conversely though a successful meeting might be what pushes Brent up.

Today's news that Topshop and other Arcadia brands are to become part of the Asos group and just trade online, and that the rest of the Arcadia brands are likely to follow under Boohoo along with Debenhams has massive implications for the remaining High Street clothing and homeware stores, including M&S.

The High Street's in most of our big towns will have lots of gaps and although in theory this will mean more business for those remaining in practice this may not be the case in many towns - they will simply die.

Its obvious that online will grow but I think that the other big beneficiary will be out of town stores with many High Street's simply being shunned by shoppers.

It totally validates M&S's strategy of moving out of town with modern stores focused on food with clothing and homeware also available. I think that we will see this strategy speeded up now out of necessary.

Hook-up now completed - around 16.00GMT - looks to be around 500k - GK is on her way to Scapa Flo for a STS with Front Loki - the same super tanker that took the last Kraken load - she has been waiting at Scapa Flo, therefore, good indications that this is another load of bunkering crude destined for Singapore.

I just don't see how Walmart can make it work, especially with regards to stocking.
A normal store where they pick orders works because they have high levels of stock for regular customers and orders and everything is taken from the same location.
But if Walmart have have two stock piles - one for auto orders and the other in the store that won't work.

I would question even the financial viability of Walmart's solution.
They are setting up what is essentially a mini CFC to serve a locality rather than a region - the in store sites are to small to serve a larger area - would seem to be one step too far.
There would be an awful lot of capital spend for not much gain - rather like using a sledgehammer to crack a walnut - it could even be cheaper to hand pick.

The debacle over the Northern Ireland vaccine imports crossing the Irish Border is unfortunately the best indication we have had so far of just how fragile the Brexit deal is - certainly not a good start.

Equinor also have an agenda to move away from oil towards renewables - at the moment this means they are continuing larger scale oil field development in the North Sea - by the time Bressay is ready for development who knows what their thinking will be - so I guess the "sole risk development" clause was maybe for Equinor's benefit rather than Enquest's.

An interesting piece from the US here that compares the Ocado/Kroger CFC approach to Walmart's plans to build on small mini automated picking areas at its stores - I guess this is something that we will see in the UK - the idea is to use these units to replace in store picking.
