It would seem that the Kraken crude is being marketed and paid for in Singapore by Enquest - hence the larger than expected debt reduction.
That does also mean that there are more loads to be sold from late 2020 that are still on their way to Singapore.

In reality, Enquest is still paying the price for low oil prices over the last few years - the revenue is just about covering debt but any new capital has to come from the shareholders.

The way I read it AB and his associates were providing the funding for the equity, so it was more of a cash injection to acquire the additional assets and could be more or less neutral to the SP.

Equity raise is no problem - AB to fund - minor dilution.

Otherwise all good except 2021 production forecast.

One possible collaboration that M&S could consider could be with Whitbread.
Some of the city and town centre stores that M&S owns the freehold on would make excellent sites for Premier Inns.
M&S could retain the lower floor for a Food Hall with a Premier Inn on the upper floors.
The companies could also share catering roles on the site - an M&S Cafe or a Beefeater for example - whichever was more appropriate for the location.

Its early days for the carbon capture industry but the potential is there and Enquest are well placed to grab some of the action.

The other advantage is that the carbon that is stored underground displaces any oil and gas deposits that remain and allows them to be extracted - this could potentially make unprofitable depleted fields profitable again - in other words revenue would be earned disposing of the carbon and from selling the displaced oil and gas.

Exactly, that is why you need carbon capture to clean up the existing technologies - capturing 90% of a gas fired power stations emissions and storing them underground has to be worth while.

The companies that provide the expertise to make that work using capital provided by Governments and big business will be handsomely rewarded.

I think that the oil majors realise that they have to take full account of ESG - that's why they are changing direction.
The smaller oil companies are no different and have to embrace it to retain institutional investment and attract a new breed of investors.

But the important thing is that carbon capture is a fantastic business opportunity for Enquest, mainly because it is something that Enquest can partake in without having to fund with huge capital outlay - others will provide the major investment needed - Enquest will provide their expertise.

With Enquest its all down to volume - the SP is simply driven only by dramatic movements in Brent - one way or the other - for the rest of the time it just drifts down as the SP falls to find buyers.

The trouble is that not many investors - of all types - what, or in the case of many of the institutions, are able to buy oil shares at the moment.

Hence the need for Enquest to try something different to energise the SP - that brings me back to carbon capture.

Carbon capture inst just about renewables it could have a major role to play in reducing emissions from existing gas fired power stations.

This is done by capturing the emissions from burning the gas to power turbines and then passing the emissions through fuel cells.

Around 20% extra energy is generated by passing the emissions through the fuel cells.

The resulting carbon that has passed through the fuel cells can then be collected and put into carbon storage underground in a liquid form.

Overall this cuts emissions at the power station by 90%.
