Looks like a limited reversal - if you take out the volatility of the downside in the Autumn and accept that the oil price got ahead of its self in recent months then you can see a nice steady upward trend that started last June and looks set to continue throughout 2021.

Silly though, my other tech share CWR, did a fundraise over night and was 7.5% up on the day - strange.

Its certainly good news that Ocado Retail are to reduce the packaging its logical for so many reasons - reduce waste - reduce transport costs - pack more orders into delivery vehicle - unnecessary marketing tool, customer has already purchased on line - plain and less packaging is cheaper - very popular move with Ocado customers.

Could we dare to hope that's the shorts cashing out - logically it would seem likely, especially as today was results day.

It most certainly is, not only that but with their pollution levels its absolutely necessary.

For Ocado Retail to perform efficiently it has to be working at more or less capacity all the time with just the ability to ramp up at Christmas.
This is why new CFC's are being added as needed and ramping up to full capacity over time.
The surge in demand that occurred during the first lockdown couldn't therefore be fully accommodated.

Ocado have reacted, as quickly as possible to the new normal and have already ramped up productivity as much as possible at the existing CFC's, opened one mini CFC this month and have two more standard sized CFC's due to open this year.
In addition another mini CFC will open next year and they are searching for more sites to accommodate extra standard sized CFC's in the future.

it would clearly be impossible to finance and run CFC's that were not operating at full capacity - Ocado Retail would quickly run into the over capacity issues that M&S currently have with their bricks and mortar stores.

I think that the price movement this morning is down to the Weichai partnership.

The involvement of Weichai in the fundraising underlines their commitment to the joint venture with Ceres and paves the way for very significant future earnings by way of a licensing deal for Ceres products with Weichai.

This from the full results regarding the Bus Trial, stands out -

"Once the trial completes, we hope to announce the establishment of a joint venture fuel cell manufacturing company in Shandong Province, China, in mid-2021 to produce SteelCell® SOFC systems. As previously disclosed, the joint venture is intended to provide a staged path to high-volume manufacturing potentially for buses, commercial vehicles and other applications in China."

News is expected this summer, the way the Chinese move we could see significant income within a year or two - maybe quicker than Bosch.

Volume isn't that great at the moment - it could just be down to the shorts finding the SP easy to manipulate on a more or less daily basis at the moment and with fewer buyers around have a degree of control.
