The presentation looked very positive to me, showing a clear intent and understanding of the way forward.
M&S are certainly at the start of what looks to be an exciting move forward and what they are doing is clearly working.
Their positivity for both physical and digital sales is certainly the way forward, especially with so many competitors falling by the wayside or failing to embrace the opportunity, post Covid.
The short term dangers are clear and logistics will clearly be problematic on the run up to Christmas, but by making customers aware now that there are problems, will encourage early purchases and hopefully iron out demand over a longer period. M&S has a strong supply chain and a reliance on own branded products - this should be a big benefit.
Also, we are likely to see a much higher percentage of full priced sales with little need for discounting.
