As expected - $80 Brent isn't acceptable to global economy.

These small cap AIM shares are totally unpredictable.
Its just a case of picking very well and sticking for as long as it takes.
But, don't get carried away with your first investment - its easy to add when things start to happen.
The main thing is that the management have to be good - that's where you put your faith and your patience.
Daniel Lee is certainly a class act with a strong bias towards commercialisation.

High oil prices would lead to inflation and higher interest rates that would damage economies, creating an economic crisis that would quickly push down demand for oil - especially now as we recover from Covid with high Government and business debt.

High oil prices are self defeating for the oil sector - a few months of euphoria followed by the inevitable dive.

Enquest would obviously benefit with a few Kraken loads at top price - much better though to get what they are getting at the moment for an extended period.

Look at it another way then - high oil prices reduce demand for oil - that's obvious.

In 2008 when oil peaked at around $140 in June, it was back down to $40 by the end of the year.

Its all about balance - Brent needs to be affordable - hence $65 - $75 as a long term price range to satisfy all.

Above all Enquest needs stability to pay down its debts - oil spikes won't do that - 3-4 years with Brent at around current levels will pay down debt and give Pelle his dividends by the bucket full.

The market likes today's update - currently up 6.00%.

Having the presentation tomorrow could be a masterstroke - today is all about the past - tomorrow will all be about the future - hopefully we will see a big boost in sentiment, and the SP.

Yes, the strategy for growth is very strong and is backed by solid finances - even if the level of the SP is a tad frustrating at the moment.

As expected $80 Brent - what will the big players do now?

I think we will see big pressure by world leaders, including Bidden, to push OPEC+ to open the taps.

OPEC+ are still in control and have plenty of capacity still in reserve - my guess is that we are close to the top of the market now with a clearly defined trading range between $65-$75 - $80 is too high for the global economy.

Clearly the revenue and profit numbers don't give a fair indication of the revenue over such a short period - the nature of the business means that invoicing is mainly done on in stages as projects progress - especially regarding development costs.

Agreed nothing new but a good steady as she goes H1 update for the quieter half of the year - still a 26% gain on H1 2020.

It was simply insurmountable problems caused by Brexit that forced the closure - nothing more - M&S had passed the point where they could continue to operate in France.

lets hope that M&S are not forced to make the same decision in Ireland, but they can do nothing to resolve the current situation other that to lobby the Government.

While I doubt that we will catch up what we lost at the last update, it does seem that investor sentiment is improving, probably sparked by the fuel supply problems, so with a good update from Enquest regarding GE we could at least see 28p, maybe even later this week.

Good to see sentiment improving, should give the SP a boost over the coming months.

More importantly though, it seems like the project pipeline is moving forward as DP predicted, this is what all investors need to see for the long term.

With these AIM small caps it makes little difference where the SP is at the moment, its where it is in 2-3 or more years time that matters.

No problem recruiting drivers for home delivery - not classified as HGV - also well paid.

I think the fuel shortage will only last a few more days - it was media driven and only created by panic buying - oil suppliers will prioritise their larger outlets first to get supplies running freely.
