Took advantage of sub 230p this morning to buy more for my Mothers account - cannot see any downside here in 2022 - hopefully over 375p and in the FTSE100 by this time next year.

I guess we may see a few extra measures brought in to help the NHS such as a delay to Schools returning in the new year by a week or so and it looks like new year celebrations will be very low key.
Christmas is itself a sort of lockdown with many people staying at home.
The public have also voted with their feet at the expense of hospitality - this would have also helped.

So, I think we can be cautiously optimistic now that we could get back to normal later in January and maybe, with the fall in trade for hospitality, M&S could even gain a net benefit to revenue from Omicron.

Lots of opportunities for Enquest to develop renewables at Sullom Voe - especially Green Hydrogen from wind and wave power. Also big money to be made with carbon capture.

The next step will be for Enquest to rename its self Enquest Energy PLC to show future intent.

I didn't want to say anything on the Enquest board, but it seems Scotch Whisky is earning more for UK PLC now than North Sea Oil.

The biggest problem for M&S, and for the rest of us, is the disruption caused by so many people being ill at the same time - I guess we are all going to have to weather the storm and accept some compromises - hopefully by the middle of January things will start to look better..

The reason for the delay in reporting resumption of production could be simply that its only recently that the roof has been made completely weather proof.

The RNS said the repair in mid-November was temporary and final repairs should be finished in a few weeks.

I guess the temporary repair could have been compromised in heavy rain and/or high winds.

Think of the fall out if they had reported the fix and then came back a few days later and said that the roof had blown off!

The main reason why the companies in the peer group have fallen in 2021 is interest rates.
Tech stocks always fall back when interest rates are predicted to rise.
Investors tend to shift from tech stocks to value stocks that will give them jam today rather than looking to long term growth tech stocks.

Hopefully EQT will buck this trend in 2022 when the numbers start to sing.

So in actual fact there was no more than about two weeks break in production and the only impact has been to one large contract, and even that delay hasn't impacted the customers production.

Presumably they can use some of the Christmas break to catch up if necessary.

Time will tell - if I am right and ENQ get production sorted in 2022, you will all get a lovely Repairer spike on steroids.

The SP was heading up to my target 34p in September - 27p now allows for the drop in Brent.

I guess there are still open shorts taking advantage of the market conditions, so the SP is likely to stay very volatile on an hour by hour basis.

Just look at the charts for the last year - ENQ was broadly following BP up until the start of September - its only after that that it fell back - it has to be production numbers - its easy to see from the outside as a potential investor.
If AB can get things back on track and with a bit of luck, sadly lacking this year, then 2022 should be a lot better.

Its blindingly obvious that production levels are everything for all oil companies - why do you think I spent so much time following Kraken's offloads.

No short term expectations here, other than continuing to fall towards to to £25 - still a strong hold though, will recover some time in H1 2022.

I think the production numbers are the difference between 17p now and 27p Hitman - look how the SP failed to follow BP's SP after the September update - so it follows that if you are confident that Enquest can deliver and the next updates are good then the SP should rebound very nicely.

Its just general market sentiment - hold and be patient, it will soon reverse.
Just let the BOD get on with delivering the results.
Omicron may dent profits but it will only spike for a short while, hopefully things will be getting back to normal by late January.

Yes, exactly - I think EQT shares are gradually finding their way into the hands of long term holders - its a slow process and the low SP will encourage more long term holders to buy in for at least a 3 year hold - personally I am looking at 5-10 years.

The point with these small cap holdings is that you don't need to invest much - certainly not tie up more than you can afford - because when they do move your investment will be worth a lot more very quickly.

Its also far better to invest in more than one small cap and spread your cash and chances.

Not sure yet Kraken, ENQ market sentiment is so low at the moment - it needs a very good production update in February to get things back on track, that may be asking a lot with Omicron and winter weather.

Its difficult to asses what impact Omicron will have on M&S sales this Christmas.

My guess is that negatives, such as a fall in demand for big Turkey's for large scale family meals, will be offset by positives with less people dining out.

Non food sales probably won't be affected that much because most customers would have completed their Christmas purchases.

Customers generally are more resilient to lockdowns now, as is M&S with improved online presence including Ocado Retail - likely heading for a record January.
