I’ve mixed feelings too. To me the reassuring thing would be for him to put his money where his mouth is. That said his salary may be heavily share related so he may be there already.

American Airlines' revenue jumps 40% to $13.2B in Q4

American Airlines Inc. released its earnings report for the fourth quarter of 2022 on Thursday, announcing that its revenue reached $13.2 billion, increasing by 40% compared to the corresponding quarter a year ago. The airlines' net income reached $803 million in the final quarter as opposed to registered net loss a year ago. For the three months ending on December 31, the diluted earnings per share was $1.14.

I was typing the same thing. It happened with RR too, but the SP moved up a few days later. Wondering if it’s anything to with shorters immediately changing positions? Thoughts anyone?

Keeping the discussion on RR and no personal observations… this is now a waiting game for all the other factors (long haul flights etc) to rectify, and they will. The mitigation actions in re of debt and inflation demonstrate a well run company controlling what it is able to. Interestingly if this was AIM listed it would fly (pardon the pun). A bumpy ride - play nicely people!!

Mornin all. Has anyone any news here re the settlement? I’d expect a v slight sp boost when this does (unless I’ve missed something)

To me it simply means that companies are charging more for goods and services in order to maintain profits. Indirectly ‘good’ for most share holders (that their invested business are taking the necessary action) - not so good for consumers. Cyclical but much more harsh rises if the cycle has been suppressed as it has over the last decade.
