Well Nom, things are changing rapidly everywhere, I see in Italy they have totally banned people from walking in open spaces.

Y ou gave me some very good advice to get out into the garden or walk in the park, which I did, but that now seems like very old outdated news.

I think you should take note of that and allow change to happen, when it is in our best interests, rarther than finding fault or blame.

And might I add, nobody had prescedents to work from either. I am far more concerned by the here and now than what people have to say about ""what should have been done"", my answer to that is ""based on what"". The reality to that is everywhere people are reacting to what they have learnt, what they must do now, and getting the infrastructures in place to make it happen. Hi Nomlungu, glad you posted that, journalists need to write about something, and I have been catching up with todays news tonight, sensing some major things have developed today after Ivys comments about the Chancellor.

I have been listening to the Governments steps today, not just how best to fight this virus, but how best the Government can help this countries people in the crisis we find ourselves in. Unprecedented measures in unprecedented times, and I am in awe at the extent this Government is prepared to protect its people and businesses.

Whatever history will remember BJ for, at this stage he will be judged on measures he takes, and TBH the measures taken today are outstanding as they are unprecedented in these unchartered waters.

Without trying to mix politics with these actions I am very grateful we voted this Government in. To this end I just pray Science can find a way of fighting the Coronavirus, they are certainly fighting for every one of us and what they have announced today will give them the support of the country in the months ahead. No BJ wasn"t voted in to fight Covid 19, and if this is just an example I feel he has the abiity to overcome all sorts of problems, surrounded by a team that impresses more each and every day.

So yes Boriss first 100 fays will become part of historical importance and I trust he will be judged very favourably for his determination and 100% commitment to fight for this country as he has demonstrated already with Europe. Take care nom.

Pleased to hear what you said, it is vital to keep that united front, and I hope there are things I have said which make more sense of my position these last couple of weeks. The Chancellor indeed has impressed me enormously each and every day, and if there was ever some certainty as to a future Prime Minister I think he displays those quaities in abundance.

Yeah just been reading that. It seems it is common place now to have emergency tents treating patients in the streets.

That is the biggest issue that is coming from these daily updates from Sir PatrickVallance, Chris Whitty and Boris, and just speaking with those in my circles seems to be understood by many in the last week or so.

Learning so much every day, and things like that are the reason I was being very protective to those people, it is nigh on impossible to judge without having the vital scientific information that is driving stratagy and which will continue to change daily. People seem to be understanding that, and the perpetually changing information and stratagy is not a sign of ""getting it all wrong"" but flexibility and humility to change as new findings are followed quickly.

Information overload is rife, and I am appreciative of the warnings to listen to Government directives not Social Media, nor with the best intention BBs such as ours. What seems obvious based on other countries, becomes less so as we understand the scientific curves differ in principle very little, but are reflective of where we are in any one curve. Just MO

I have actually been avoiding watching any news today but it has just flashed up on my phone that in Italy in the last 24 hours another 627 people have died from COVID 19, making a total of 4,032 and in Lombardy they are now using soldiers to enforce lockdown measures. Italy has now surpassed China as the most deaths in any one single country.

Just a couple of basic questions really, figures would suggest whatever stratagies they have put in place have seriously not been enough, I have no idea as to what curve they are working on, is there anything scientifically that has been proven to be behind these figures?? and how if there is it is changing other Governments stratagies around the world.

Also police and troops in Italy have issued 60,000 tickets to people violating rules as to lockdown, I have no idea what penalties are or what crosses the line of violation.

The Diggles are well invested there, and have been increasing their holdings for some time. Can anyone explain how Scancell fits in to their overall plans to see whether their is a bigger picture to their involvement with us?

So sold down to 4.1454 late on, and on LSE just 7 tades showing totalling about 275k, but 13 trades showng, 6 not posted amounting to another 250k perhaps. Hope that helps somebody, but everyday there are half of the trades showing only, we finish 4.50/4.475, last I heard we can sell at 4.62 if you can and buy at 4.69, not sure how reliable that is to anyone but the 121k sell says a lot.

Think I mentioned I tried to close a recent trade where I had bought aat 6.49 Monday, not a chance, and nothing that has happened here since then surprises me at all.There are quite a few city experts predicting a huge market rebound in Q3, but the damage done to many companies is frightening to even think of. Spoken to a handful of very close friends this afternoon, everyone is worried about one another, but all are now in lockdown, to varying degrees, certainly from mixing with one another.

Guess it is the same for everybody really, there is so much to think of just in our own little words, really thinking of others where there lives are somewhat more complicated than mine. Just concentrating on what I don"t need ATM, perhaps a good chance to lose the 10 kilos I want to in the coming few weeks, lol.

Be safe, as safe as you can, all about minimalising risk to me, and that is a hard one, so again I just appreciate everything everybody is doing in those frontlines, just thinking what they have to do, stops me thinking of what I would like to hear. Seems like all over the world they are doing what they can based on scientific advice and where individual countries sit on their curves at any given time, time will tell, but concentrating on what they are learning on a daily basis, gives me a bit more confidence that we can all see an end to this, sooner, rather than later.

In the meantime, be safe you guys and hoping they can get help to those who most need it, they certainly need all the support we can give them. ATB

Hi hanoi/all, yes indeed just woken up from a very long sleep. Ivy, despite any bad feelings that exist for whatever reason, hope youfeel a load better and quickly too.

Hanoi, yes that is why I guess I felt very protective for what the Government are trying to achieve, I think it is impossible for any of us to comprehend the work going on behind closed doors, but we are lucky we are hearing every day from Chris Whitty, Sir Patrick Vallance and BJ. and my impression from yesterdays conference was they were all very concerned with so many unknowns to still discover.

Dalestar, very good point, that is exactly why places like London and Milan are getting so bad, but we have many inner cities around the U.K. that live shoulder to shoulder too, I haven"t seen that data yet.
