Absolutely horrible for them and shocking that they could not have been evacuated to a military base, hotel or similar. I'd guess the Cruise industry is terminally damaged.

Well there are so many industries damaged, particularly in all aspects of tourism and basic travel, let alone holidays. When you say horrible for them, well it is horrible for millions around the world, and ""shocking"", well how many military bases are there that have full medical facilities for what was a largely unknown virus?? Hotels?? Well the same, and you say similar, well basically what??

Thank the Lord they got to safe land, eventually and the casualties could have been horrendous, what apart from the fact that self isolation in this case was safer out in the sea than any other alternatives that were practicle at the time. Not sure whether the language you use is just one horrible example, or whether you are seriously suggesting there were viable alternatives?

Crumbs, yes it can never be enough, but there are many articles coming out about how some testing wasn"t picking up infections in people with very mild symptons. I have little doubt that testing kits now are more effective in doing just that, testing, testing and testing,

Obviously as more data becomes available the better targeted testing can be implemented.

Did you know that 6,500 nurses and 2,500 doctors have responded to Government requests to come back to work. I am finding out every dy just how extraordinary all people can be.

Just to note Bermuda, we have today recruited the first patient in a clinical trial for COVID19.

The Government are also converting the Excel Centre in London to be able to treat COVID19 patients to be treated by NH workers and troops. We have increased the number of ventilators ready for use to 12k from 5k, and on a daily basis I am left in awe at all the efforts by every body to ensure a safe landing from this terrible situation.

Stand out news for me is that deaths in Italy have now exceeded 6,000 lives, did anybody hear the words from the Mayor of Bergamo yesterday about the U.K,?? Essentially saying he has brought his daughters bach home from here as it far safer in Bergamo, which is the epi centre in Italy, than it is here. I fail to see how that is supported by data we are seeing from there. Any views on that interview, TBH it angered me.

I am just trying to understand how in Spain and Italy figures are so high, when we seem to be criticised so much fromcertain quarters. Just watching Sky News and a Labour MP is blaming the Government for not being clear in their instructions, which was vigorously defended by two others. I just don"t get that, one has the Chief Medical and Science officers explaining every step and every Cabinet Minister is singing from the same script. Do we really have a problem with people just understanding clear instructions??

I have been watching just a few people walking in the streets, London is empty and where two people are walking together they are doing so shoulder to shoulder. I think in the next 48 hours we will see troops on the streets here enforcing social distancing, unfortunately it would seem people are just not getting the message, and guess who is blaming the Government.?
