With transformation costs since privatisation(mainly redundancies) nigh on £1 billion, costs are still too high and productivity gains a major issue. Replacing full time with part time has led to a deterioration in quality of service. Every complaint costs £35 to answer. I can see this year's dividend being paid, but after that all bets are off.

Nuri, if your really pleased with that RNS, you ain't got a scooby. As well as the woeful letters outlook, there was nothing on cost savings and productivity gains. There is a 50 million hit to the bottom line to come with the second part of the pay deal. The outlook is uncertain at best and in this enviroment the brutal market reaction is no surprise.
