With approaching £1 billion spent so far on transformation costs since the IPO, you would have thought RMG would have started to reap the productivity benefits by now. Yet, it is as big an issue today as ever, with a 2% pay rise and 3% reduction in the working week to factor in this year. London posties on 30k pa, with holiday and sick pay, competing against White Van Man on half that, without those rights. Posties spend 10 mins trying to deliver a parcel to neighbours, in which time WVM hurls three parcels at someone's front door. The market perceives the parcel stategy is flawed as well as RMG continually underestimating the letter decline taking place, which places serious doubts on management credibility.
Rico said in November they would be following a progressive dividend policy. We'll see!
