Not sure that the joint broker appointment necessarily means they are raising funds, although it is a possibility, but for what - not for operating costs or the drills (fully funded for 2 years on both fronts). Possibly some cash needed for another license in another area (Not Namibia or Guyana) as Gill mentioned on an interview last year - so possibly at a premium again and certainly positive if indeed that is the case.

If he waited another couple of months then his 25k could nearly buy the entire Company, making him the owner, never mind CEO. :-)

Hi Dabbler, yes you are correct although the other 2 more recent placing were at a discount - and yes it does happen where a placing is done at a premium, not often enough though.

Mike, if Cluff need to raise money then it will be circa £4million for their share of the drill with Shell paying the rest, and as such it may be viewed positively by the market. - the potential upside on that drill alone (if it came in) to a £15-20 MC Company like Cluff are absolutely huge, and with the seismic already funded the COS of this well would surely increase. Besides if the decision is made to drill then the SP would surely fly. - that is in my opinion only, and FWIW, I am looking at buying in next week so any further drop in the SP will be a huge bonus.

Spruce, When this job was planned then all failures, Including the rope failing would wave been ID'd assessed and procedures put in place to lower the risk , they would have also identified the consequences of the failure (effects if you like) and also mitigated against those. Whether this was done using the traditional FMEA, FMEACA Bowtie RA's bespoke or more than likely a combination of all, who cares, but it would have been completed, risks identified (including rope failure) and procedures checked or put in place. - that is why the Operation would have been done using cameras only (no humans in the snap zone) no risk of damage to other critical equipment or to the environment and NO Major Incident Investigation required because there was no incident of this classification.
Unfortunately the rope failed, hopefully it doesn't next time and then the armchair experts can get their teeth into something else because personally the topic is starting to bore the tits off me.

I suspect there is a fair of guessing going on here. It is not quite 3 weeks since the first rope was damaged, so less than 3 weeks into procurement, I have no idea how long it would take.
Always a chance, I suppose that there was a suitable rope on the Glas Dowr or the Bleo Holm, or indeed earmarked for the Rosebank Project that Bluewater are involved in. Unlikely but if the Aoka Mizu sailed Sunday to hit the weather window that is opening up Monday through to Tuesday Morning then it may catch a few short of shares.
