Hey Nige - me too matey - 30pct of my portfolio in BT and been buying and adding from around a quid - I think an extra g and t before dinner tonight for me and Mrc C is in order - gl C

I did say on this board a couple of weeks ago when I added at 103p and 107p that ITV would go north in the run up to results and this is what is happening now - fund managers and short sellers can hammer a share for all it is worth in periods of inactivity but they cannot afford to be caught with their pants down on results day or they themselves will take a hammering - looking forward to next week's results and I expect this share to go higher - gla dyor etc

No problem matey - yes it did boost the BT price - from 148.9p on the announcement to 158.2p at close - around a 6pct trading gain - I get my info livestream from Reuters/IG Index btw, - excellent if you want to trade stock - in this game if you snooze you lose.

VOD in auction at 110p/111p - something is going on here - will be interesting to see after hours buying and the start price tomorrow

Big spike in VOD shares - went up 3pct in 10 seconds - not sure why - Any ideas???

I must say I am pleased we are going it alone - good move by Mr J - doesn't dilute the value of the company and keeps more profit in house for incremental dividend payments going forward - glad I topped up again in the 140's - looking for broker upgrades pdq and my personal target is 200p plus short term - I think every fund manager will want this share in their Christmas stocking based on these results - gla dyor etc

Bt results vs estimates - I would be shocked if the share went down on the back of these, we will find out in a minute - gla dyor etc

As I thought unfortunately, Next getting hammered and down 3.2pct as typing - I wonder though if there has been any affect with MKS taking market share from Next and Next are dressing it up with the usual suspects of stock availability etc? - if MKS comes out with a non cautionary forward statement the market will see it this way for sure - MKS down 1pct atm on the back of Next results again as expected - gla dyor etc

They were good Chilting but I fear that the market will probably concentrate on the negative tone going forward with growth easing, stock availablity challenging and a moderation in discretionary purchases after the rise in essential goods, food petrol etc - I have a feeling they may get hammered which would affect MKS through pure sentiment - I hope I am wrong, let's see

N1 - Turning a company like MKS around is like turning a cargo ship - first you have to change the narrative that MKS are selling "old people's clothes" - not an easy thing to do and certainly never going to happen quickly - MKS have used the covid scenario to their advantage capitalising on their food offering via Ocado and promoting the quality of their clothes - I personally believe this will be seen in the next results - I have around 20pct of my portfolio in MKS so you could say I am pretty confident going forward - gl and dyor

See the shorts still clinging on for grim death - they will be put out of their misery on the 10th me thinks - for the first time in many many years I am actually looking forward to these results - seen the bad days but I never gave up on this company, why would you with Archie Norman, the king of retail at the helm - the Ocado deal was a master stroke as was letting upmarket concessionaries like hobbs, sosander etc pitch alongside your own stock, serving to highlight your own stocks quality, another master stroke - I will sell for 3 pound, not a penny less, and if there is a bid 4 pound but in the meantime knock knock knocking on the 2 pound door yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah - gla and dyor etc

BANK OF AMERICA RAISES MARKS & SPENCER TO 'NEUTRAL' (UNDERPERFORM) - TARGET 190 (150) PENCE - As I said in a previous post - MKS can be hammered by the market but CANNOT be hammered in the lead up to results as funds will need to balance risk or be hammered themselves on results day - I reiterate my previous post that MKS will be bought heavily before results day - let's see

Asos and Boohoo have to sell huge quantities of clothes as their margins are wafer thin, they also sell the majority of their crap to students who have no money - MKS on the other hand have good margins and sell to people who HAVE money to spend - macro economics continuing to dictate atm - money will imo eventually have to go into UK value stocks once dividends resume as funds need certainty of income going forward - I think MKS will surprise to the upside with their results as margins are maintained, maybe increased - if this is the case and MKS gives a positive outlook rather than a negative one as ASOS did today, then the share will go north regardless of macro economic uncertainty imo - gla dyor etc

ITV share price can be manipulated down but when it comes to their results and the lead up to the results it CANNOT be manipulated - Tesco short sellers found that out today good style - ITV imho will be bought and bought heavily before the next results - gla and dyor etc

Tesco outperformed with their results this morning and are up nearly 4pct atm - MKS down as I think the market is as usual concentrating on the states and inflation, reduction in QE etc etc - MKS results coming up though and the market CANNOT ignore that - I think we will MKS bought and bought heavily before their results next month - gla dyor etc
