transformer - agreed my opinion is just a guess fwiw.
i would agree that when the sp was 7p i also felt it was undervalued as that was before the downgrade- i had been a long term holder and still held a large pot as a long term investment even though the sp had gone down 85% at the time...the news of probable downgrade in reserves was my point of exit as a lth (with the exception of a tiny pot in a sipp ) and i have become focussed as a trader in hur. I would love good news and a return - one shouldnt get emotional about shares but i cant help it i have a huge soft spot for hur. at the moment i find it impossible to value hur so i have no idea if it is undervalued - it is a bit of a binary bet that could swing massively both ways...there are also a couple of factors in the background that could seriously afffect the sp in my opinion- so the timing of any rns will be important. personally i would prefer sooner rather than later. so i really hope i am wrong and news is next week...

i agree the bod would be keen to sort out the forward plan - but these things take time - which is why they will be pressurised to notify before xmas as they previously indicxated. my aim experience is that these sort of notifications always take longer than anticipated. i see this weeks move as a knock on good feeling in the market and speculation etc.

i think there will be more volatility as we get towards xmas and great opportunities for trading. whether one wants to be in prior to drop is a personal choice.....fear v fomo.....

transformer - i would be delighted to get an update in the next two weeks but i still suspect it will be just before xmas. though something from spirit could drop. it is going to be good to know what kind of future hur has - if it will be a share for investing in again.

i bought a wee bit over 450,000 today as a trade ( 3.14/3.18) from halifax - would have bought more but Hargreaves were outrageous with their pricing - live price was 3.17 and they were quoting 3.4. I dont see 500,000 as a big trade and that was pretty much the going price regardless of what was being indicated. i couldn't buy my target of £18k from hargreaves - well actually I got one offer but didnot act quick enough

i dont rate zak mir that much but he reckons it will go towards 6p - On a good rns maybe but i dont see it for speculation - but i certainly could see it testing 3.5- 3.7p next week barring any macroeconomic issues

As i said this is a traders share until rns with serious update on forward plan or spirit. I would expect forward plans just before xmas. there will be some spikes up and down imho. nimble trading could result in some nice profits.

I made about £10k this week which all goes towards recouping my huge losses. been trying to get some entry points this morning but hargreaves is sh*t...cant buy £18k and £10k is 3.37p as opposed to supposedly 3.14p..added to the mess on monday when couldnt log in made trades with out knowing if they had gone through etc....

Dire - the market cap had been decimated long before there was any suggestion of a downgrade... Sentiment started going with poor drill results at gwa...

Any big fish would wait for forward plans and cpr imho

well hur was valued at £1b before they produced any oil. the market values on sentiment. good forward plan and hopefully the sp will rerate...

BPC is interesting but risky. cos is 30% from memory on the upcoming drill. the trinidad stuff isnt worth much in my opinion. so binary punt as bear says....

Dire - I agree that we need this info before getting carried away. though it is great to see life in the old dog!
there will be speculation/pump and dump before the news - so I am not sure these gains will be held. i still think rns with forward plans is a month away at least - so this move is too early

the rns with forward plans will ultimately decide where the sp heads long term. fingers crossed this is the beginning of a huge recovery for LTH.
i dont see any chance of a takeover bid until industry knows forward plans and new CPR

bartle - i agree biden will pursue a greener policy. The issue is whether it is feasible and realistic. There are some really interesting videos on youtube investigating how green the new energy plants really are. I believe fossil fuel will be around for a bit.

I agree the saudis and Russia will play a big part in poo....they both need the income and more importantly power on the world stage that oil affords them. I do not think a low oil price will suit them or a "green world". They played the game of chicken earlier in the year and realised no one was winning with decimating oil price.

hur have their hedge at $35 so running costs should be covered in the worst case scenario

no risk - if hur can continue as a going concern then i agree that the upside could be massive. though i can equally see the argument that if the plans are not great then there could be issues with the bonds - downside could be equally massive.

it is hur - nothing is ever easy and straight forward!

i guess because it was made before they had started producing from the wells...it was a guesstimate - no matter how many letters are behind the names writing it. the usual disclaimer was there that they take no responsibility blah blah...obviously a year's data did not back it up.

the next cpr will be up for some serious scrutiny

project - i believe the long lead items for lincoln have already been acquired . They had been ordered long time ago before the question marks on whether it would go ahead arose.I think the reason they would be updating with other forward plans before xmas is to enable work to take place in the next weather window. the company that will be modifying the AM have already been contracted as well. I suspect hur know what they will do and have made all the necessary plans - the only delay will be the rns informing PI

bartle - i feel your pain mate...i normally do several trips to italy a year - this year managed florence and livorno in feb and nothing since....desperate for a walk around the coliseum at night with an ice cream.....*sigh*....

Slift - I would still put my money as towards the end of Dec trading... Though spirit news could come earlier... I have been in too many aim companies... When they say you will know x by y... It always is y or later..

slift - one of my theories is that in the worst case scenario that the existing lancaster wells watered out - hur still have paid for AM to be converted to its current format and ready out in the area. There is nothing stopping them using in on another field (conventional?) as part of a JV or takeover etc.....i still think twists and turns possible.

of course a workaround the existing drills is always the preferred choice. and you never know lincoln might be coming on at a good time as well....fingers crossed

bim - well that only goes to prove my point further that the market predicted and reacted before the news - which is what has happened this last week in my opinion.

in my view the market and smart money is already lookig at the next transition - which is the potential recovery - us result should improve macroeconomics short term regardless who wins....imho

bim- of course i will watch tomorrow. my suspicion/hope is yes there will be a minimal drop - whether it affects hur is another matter - as we have had rather a bad time of it already - but after a few days we will climb again.

hur is currently at £45m....it is a going concern (for now)

so how low do you think the mcap will go? £30m..£20m? we should have another offload this month worth $15m+
