If its not fit for purpose now, a whale will be well over a year away IMO, building tech , doing stand alone and integration testing as well as going live is a long job.

The tech would have been at least 90% ready when V joined IMO

Vivek would not have joined the company just over six months ago if the tech was not fit for purpose, IMO the tech is there and ready to go.

Vivek also talked sometime ago, about the systems having no front end allowing more than one company to use their own front end and share costs on the back end.

The new strategy has been in the making for well over year IMO , the old model clearly didn’t do what was required in terms numbers.

If you want that model either as an investor or a customer, you must look elsewhere.

Looking back doesn’t help apart from recognising that MM has form for over promising, if as an investor you think that will happen again then a reduction in holding might be appropriate IMO ( no advice intended).

Me i think TGL is moving forward with governance, especially now that the separation has happened.

I also think he has reigned in MM , apart from his last post we have heard little through that channel, and I am sure we will not hear anything more after the challenges and blockings.

I guess you either trust the guidance or hope that nutrition somehow saves the day.

MM will never leave unless he is dragged out kicking and screaming, He initiated the changes that are ongoing over 18 months ago, and they seem to be bearing fruit.

If you think he won't get the turnaround its best to look for value elsewhere IMO , as i posted the other day i think he will and i am hanging around.

As far aiI can see, MM and his team initiated the change as far back as may June 2021, TGL started in March 2002 and was immediately caught up in the bid as was explained previously

Since the bid was put to bed, when TGL made his famous FlimFlam comment., we have heard some major pieces about how the future is looking,

- Pivot on Ingenuity with very significant forward looking comments in the recent update.
- 2,000 headcount reduction with more to come with Automation going live in America
- Vivek putting out the word that many more staff are required for ingenuity expansion these being in the States, Germany etc
- Action already taken on demand and other noncore activities with more action to come.
- Clear focus on three main divisions with the price reduction in Whey being of significance.

Mrs Simmons of ADVFN fame who likes to pop across for a gloat now and again, made a very decent comment at the last up date, she basically posted, you either believe this forward looking story or you don't and take your actions accordingly.

I am very comfortable for at least the next 6 months

I think things are going according to plan

Well think THG will do well over the next 12 to 18 months. Principally because of ingenuity. If am wrong and the share is down 50 from todays price by then, i will have made a bad decision.

Every other poster who is so completely negative and are still invested will also have lost 50% of their capital invested here.

They will be thinking, I knew the SP would lose another 50% , and they will still be blaming MM and TGL rather than asking themselves why they held for another year knowing they would lose that money.

This last statement says it contains inside information, i think that adds weight to the ingenuity statements in it.

But I am ever hopeful

On elf the things i ve noticed with trading statements from THG, some have a heading ,

'THIS ANNOUNCEMENT CONTAINS INSIDE INFORMATION’

And other don't, i cant see a pattern in it, but i think it could be germane..

I did very well back in the day, i bought Microsoft just as Bulmer stood down, 24 bucks and paying 4.5 % dividend. Sold all on the way up and has been my best ever investment. The pound was strong when i bought and in the 1.30’s when selling.

Its all very straightforward, if the share you hold pays dividends you need to fill-in a form for the withholding tax, all easy on line.

The currency always makes it double risk.

I am contemplating Shopify as well, the pound concerns me a bit ..

@ Golden,i see shopify is getting upgraded and Cramer on CNBC has it as one of his 6 picks on tech to bounce back.
