It looks to me that THG and MM are being rehabilitated city wise and Peel Hunt is taking the first step by putting their name to this discussion. It feels to me that the sky is the limit, MM comes across as very thoughtful and approachable...not often you see that!!

I am as always very bullish and perhaps we will start to see some traction in the SP one the coming weeks and months..

Snickers apparently is the word sets selling candy bar,...because it is one of the products of a private company exact sales numbers are not available, but they are huge. Estimates of turnover at over 385 million p/a .

This is a massive deal and there will be huge focus on making it a success..IMO

If Mars was doing OK with their offerings they would not be teaming up with THG on the 4 products that MM has spoken of, that post included reference to expanding the range available past powders and bars.

IMO this will be an Iceland type build up, the range offered will build up over time depending of course on the initial uptake and Analysis of customer reaction.

A company like Mars doesn't do a change in producer particularly from themselves to outsourcing to a third party like THG, with no valid reason and no research into the products and customer reaction , and that all takes time , IMO this partnership has been ongoing for some time and it will also take some time for a fuller products to be available and customer reaction to become apparent.

This IMO is a huge deal and if it works it will be extremely beneficial to THG and Mars.

Patience is required but I take heart form the build up of product at Iceland, that is huge success and only two years left of the tied relationship there , so loads to come IMO

So mixed views on Mars Collaboration , I am very positive about it and I can only agree with the later posters, also IMO it is easy to forget how much engine that THG has under the bonnet, although it is difficult to pin down exactly where full ownership of the products lies, but I am fairy sure that THG will have a part of that

I am of course referencing the MY Protein range that is sold exclusively in Iceland, that was a five year deal with Iceland, that was signed just over three years ago and that has been very successful , the last time I looked there were over 50 items being sold , a few with MY Protein and Muller branding included in that.

So a wide range of hIgh protein products with a successful track record, who wants to partner up? With only two years exclusivity left I think negotiations will be well advanced now, if another partner wants to launch part of the range then production faculties will have to be organized etc.

Time will tell but I think THG is going to be very successful in this space.

Finally I would say , if the other companies are so much better than THG, why have they not been selected to lead the new thrust into the market by Mars, this IMO is getting close to last chance to grab market share and Mars has chosen THG perhaps the others were approached and turned Mars down...

I have been having a look around at the chocolate bars, its bit difficult to get exact numbers on sales of Snickers bars with AI throwing up stuff, they say 2 Billion dollars year and also says it surpassed 1 Billion in 2013.

Another entry from AI is 385 million a year.

Whichever is the correct number, its a huge seller and to partner THG speaks volumes about the quality of THG, looking at snickers history and their advertising campaigns they have been huge , good read up on Wiki.

They don't seem to have done any partnership like this before and I would suggest that we will see a good set of campaigns behind these products , whatever they are, I have to say this partnership is the big time, I really hope it works.

I think this is going to be big for THG, I have read the post a few times and it would seem that MM is very much in a thawing mood, and that is being reciprocated, i think that means that not only numbers will come good but that relationships with top brands are getting bigger and better.

Mars as we know is a worldwide company, I have been looking at their website and Snickers is the worlds best selling candy bar...the THG collaboration follows with Mars, Bounty and Twix.

The thing that stands out to me is that we aren't seeing a 'small ' trial type approach , say like Iceland which started small and has grown fantastically...but it looks like 4 mainstream products being partnered with THG (.in what exact way we will see in due course).

The thing that strikes me about the partnership is that these are mainstream high profile products from Mars, the research and time that will have been put into this launch will have been huge, and the launch of this collaboration will have been agreed at a very high level within Mars, the products being brought out will have been refined , tested and trialled to very exacting standards. This is all IMO of course but I have been around this type of thing in my past life.

IMO THG is beginning to hit the big time with a partnership company and brands that have worldwide reach and huge name awareness , this is quite a major step up in partnerships , and if successful we could see the SP move north to higher levels.

Exciting times ahead for THG holders

PS I have always been a fan of MM perhaps I will finally make penny or two..

In all the time I have been invested or interested, Telfer was always 'on the way out'... old, high cost , low output , how and when will it be shut. It seemed the only thing saving it was the discovery at Haverion, but the ore from the new mine was not enough to the keep the wheels turning at full capacity as it were and so there were still major challenges to be faced. indeed there were estimates of the cost to close down and make good etc.

Admittedly the price of gold has exploded , but nevertheless it seemed Telfer was a major headache and It was full steam ahead at Haverion indeed they started the decline without all the usual steps completed.

Now it would seem that the entire thrust of the company has been changed and the main driver is Telfer and Haverion has been 'slowed', it seems to me that given the amount of reserves that are allocated in the accounts V's the current and planned activity I can only conclude that either we will,

- see a significant upgrade and forward plan for the Telfer mine

or

- It all been a mistake and things will go south very rapidly.

personally I doubt my second option will occur so i hope to see a significant announcement on findings and the future life of Telfer , if that does occur then I think it will be very good news indeed.

As an afterthought I see the changes in global sentiment as being very helpful to the company Viz a Viz Tungsten and wouldn't be surprised to see some information on progress in that area.

That was a very interesting view on My Protein, it is quite remarkable the growth of the brand since the relaunch and the presentation by the American chap is very persuasive. Although he spoke at about 3 times normal speed so covering a lot of content in a short time, very effective for my shortish attention span!!

The range and depth of the offering by My Protein is remarkable and in my opinion quite overlooked by the market and various commentators, indeed I think it is fair to say that My Protein is a world leader, and has the potential to overcome a view / impression that this type of business is limited to sports /weight training devotees.

The company is managing to get traction into mainstream shopping, Iceland has been a great development and testing ground that shows the potential from a standing start, but IMO My Protein needs a larger more mainstream partner than just Iceland to really make the move into a 'new paradigm', perhaps that is the promised / hoped for partnership.

I still hold a decent wedge of these and indeed have added a few more at around recent lows , I am more of a silent share watcher than contributor nowadays but as ever I wish all holders the very best of luck here.

I bought a bunch of these when I was browsing the LSE site and now hold a few millions, so a real holder and I wouldn't mind a little help.

I read that SVNS bought awakn and that resulted in a transformation of the company and the products offered, I read the prospectus and so on but am struggling with a bit of it, so a few questions if anyone can help.

SVNS issued just over 2 Billion new shares and holders of Awakn got just under 50 shares in SVNS for each awakn share that they held. The Awakn shares appeared to be trading around 9 cents Canadian at the time, ( or was it a fraction of that?), and were they asked to hold for a time IE a lock in for 3 or 6 months before they were able to sell.

Basically I am trying to figure out if the Canadians are selling because they have made a really good return at these prices or are they holding because they are either locked in or are not that much ahead on the deal.

It seems to me that the major holders that put in a bunch of cash at .30 of a penny have put bit of a floor in the SP until we either get good or bad news.

I will hold till we get some news.

If a deal has been done at 20p a share, then the company that bought in at that price should be filling their boots at this price, so we will see as the story unfolds.

But the buying pressure suggests that somebody believes in the 20p buy...

I just checked the link and it shows monthly trades Click on daily volume for my view...that supports the position.

So i bought in Friday based on the following premise, i believe that the buyer ( whoever or whatever that is ), wants to be a holder in size sooner rather than later.

They went to the company and said that, the company then said, in my opinion , thats great but we are not a distressed company and can manage fine without your cash, after some negotiation they settled at 5% of company at 20p a share

That clearly is a huge premium to the current position, but it seems that the first tranche will be paid in the next day or so with the bulk on or around the 9th of June. So we will see if the people who find that premium to be far too high are correct or not.

So why the premium , IMO the buyer wants in before some news and given the daily share turnover it will have taken a lot of time to get 5% of the company.

So if the buyer is correct then some news should follow in the coming months.

In answer to what we get for 340 million..i would ask how many items are sent out each year, it looks like around 29 million orders ?, so thats about 12 pounds per order.

So that for buying the stock, storing it and dispatching it and getting it to the customer,

Is 12 pounds too much ?

I have no idea but it doesn’t seem too much to me, particularly with the speed of dispatch and the accuracy of said orders,. but i know very little of the operation and its competitors.

I thought i would post to say that I am back in to GGP, some may remember that i was very enthusiastic and bought quite a few many at prices in the teens...the sold out as i got worried.

I have watched and read the board as the price fell and then rose again, until the other day when it fell back to 10 and a bit and with the current turmoil in the markets and the price of gold hitting highs, together with the quite remarkable change in the company over the last few years, i bought back.

Not as many as i used to have but a fair amount.

It has been a remarkable journey for the company and i hope the the many stalwarts on this board have managed to hold and with great fortitude got some more at very good prices.

JPMorgan is little more optimistic ...

Looking at the list posted there are entries that are holders of shares on behalf of PI’s

EG Hargreaves, Halifax Share dealing etc and other that could be holders for Pi’s EG Hargreaves Lansdown and so on.

The holdings that are in hands other than Major Holders are quite significant IMO

Of course this is just my interpretation of the list and could be wrong.

I was under the impression that on Triple witching day the majority of the massive trades are Derivative holdings rather than shareholdings.

So trading on a share price is possible without actually holding the share.

But i know very little about derivatives and the trading of them.

So the number held by ‘holders’ will be smaller that it looks.

But in general terms i agree that many PI’s will hold until news comes through..
